Chapter 6

The day together with Spinel is going well so far. "Hey Spinny, how about a picnic on the beach?" And you smile at her. "What's a picnic?" the Pink Gem asks you and looks at you questioningly. "What? Do you mean to tell me that you don't know what a picnic is? Well, it's when we buy things to eat and sit on the beach with a blanket on and eat them." "Oh, that sounds good! It's crazy what humans do." Giggles Spinel. "Haha, that's right... Well, let's go to this shop, they have the best snacks there!" "Yay!" Together you go to the supermarket to get some stuff for the picnic. You find some Cheetos. "Hey, how about- Spinel? Where are you?" You realize she's no longer standing next to you, so you go to the next aisle and look for her. You find her there. "There you are! Did you find anything?" Spinel stands in front of the shelf and takes out a box of strawberries she was staring at. "This one?" "Hehe yes, that's great!" After you two have bought a few things for the picnic, you two sit on a picnic blanket on the beach. It is getting dark again and the sun is slowly setting. The perfect sunset is reflected on the water. You look at Spinel how she's watching the sunset. Her eyes shine through the sun and her gaze is amazed but still calm. You have to grin. There is something about Spinel that you like so much, she looks so beautiful, the glow she gets from the sunset, and how she loves to do something with you ... From the first day, she didn't want to leave you. And even if you wouldn't admit it, but you didn't want to leave her either, and you were relatively happy that you spent the night together. Spinel notices you looking at her. Then she smiles too. You mention: "You're beautiful..." and suddenly you realize you said it out loud. "I said it out loud, didn't I?" Spinel giggles. "Yeah, it doesn't matter, cause I think you're beautiful, too. Very much so." You smile and blush a little. Then you come closer and closer so that the tips of your noses touch. The bright pink eyes attract you. But suddenly, before anything can happen, a beach volleyball hits you in the head. "Ouch!" You hold your head in pain. "Are you okay, (y/n)?" Spinel asks you, and you nod. A Kid comes running to get the ball back. "Excuse me, miss. I did not mean to do that." And runs back again. You two decided to go back to the hotel after the picnic. Spinel: "Thanks for this great day! I had a great time." You smile. "No problem, I had a great time with you too! But now I'm really tired, I'm going to bed." "Me too, although I'm never tired. I think sleep is really good for me." Spinel smiles at you and you giggle. "All right, then." You go to bed together. Spinel snuggles up to you and you put your arms around her. Spinel: "You are the best friend I ever had." Oh...just friends? You felt more than just friendship. "Eh, sure you're a best friend to me too..."
