All I'm saying is the heart wants what it wants. If you already know what it wants then the only problem is you and the wall you've built around yourself.
Shoto stared at his notes with a blank expression-- his eyes reading what was written, but his mind was drifting off someplace else. He couldn't forget the words his sister had told him.
...the only problem is you and the wall you've built around yourself.
Shoto looked up and his eyes unconsciously land on Izuku who was too preoccupied in talking to Uraraka and Iida by the door-- his smile making Shoto's heart skip a beat.
A wall, huh? Shoto thought to himself as he tried to look back on the very reason why he had built a wall around himself-- his childhood.
At a tender age, Shoto's eyes were opened to the cruel reality that not all couple has love present among their relationship-- his parents were the perfect example to demonstrate that fact.
His father had forced himself on his mother who was under her heat period when they were younger. Because of his father's rut turned on from his mother's heat, a knot was formed and ensured his parents a catch-- thus, Shoto's eldest brother was born and his mother and father were forced to get married to save his father's reputation since he was the son of a successful businessman back then.
In time, his mother learned to love his father and blessed their family three more children-- Shoto being the youngest. His mother did everything for them-- dressed them, cooked them food, cleaned the house, took care of them, loved them...
His father, however, showed that he wasn't ready to be in a steady relationship much less have a family.
Shoto could remember the countless times he had accidentally walked in on his father kissing another woman inside their own house. He remembered how he would walk in on the kitchen to see his mother wiping her face-- eyes puffed and red-- and show him the brightest smile as if she wasn't crying her eyes out. He remembered how he woke up from a loud commotion inside their house and saw his father-- drunk and angry like always-- hit his mother across the face so hard that it took her a long time before she could stand upright from the impact. He remembered how he ran to his mother's aid when he saw her crying one rainy night and tried to cheer her up... only to be grabbed by his mother-- eyes and soul broken-- as she poured hot water over his face, creating a permanent scar both on Shoto's face and his heart.
Shoto clenched his fist as he relived those moments-- like he always did whenever he tries to acknowledge the feelings he had for Izuku-- and somehow he was struck with fear... the fear that he might end up being like his father, fear that it might be Izuku's crying face he'd see instead of his mother, fear that the omega might be miserable in staying with an alpha like him.
So he tries his best to bottle his feelings up... and try to stop himself from loving the omega.

"Where's Midoriya?" Tenya asked Ochako and upon hearing the omega's name, Shoto looked up to his friend-- anticipating an answer from either one of them.
"He said he wasn't feeling well so he headed to the infirmary," Ochako said, "He looked rather pale though and said he felt hot,"
"You don't think he's caught a fever at school?" Tenya asked.
"I hope not," Ochako answered.
Curious and worried about the omega, Shoto stood up from his seat-- catching his friends' attention. "I just remembered I have to do something," he said before he left, ignoring the calls Tenya made for leaving his tray on the table instead of cleaning it up.
