Toby's hand was firmly on my back as he led me through the crowds of shouting people. We stopped at the foot of the bed, all of us shocked at what just happened.
"How? I didn't think there was enough evidence" Aria said, looking back to the courthouse in shock.
"Neither did I. Tanner must've been hiding something," Toby explains. Watch in regret as Tanner walks down the steps and towards us.
"Detective Tanner," Toby says, addressing her as she comes towards us.
"Officer Toby," She says to him with a stiff smile. "Justice was served today," She says addressing all of us individually, her gaze glossing across to us. Her eyes stop on mine, moving down to my stomach before giving a weak nod. Toby's gaze tightens, pulling me a bit back. "I'll talk to you girls later," She says with a smile. She gave us a nod before she moved around us.
"We're going to be next,' Hanna says frantically.
"What is -A's deal. I don't understand what the plan is," Ezra says in disbelief, as we watch DiLaurentis' walk out of the courthouse, Jason's face an ashen colour as he refuses to make eye contact with anyone on the streets.
"Let's go," Toby decides as he holds my hand tightly in his, pulling me away from the growing crowd. Toby gets into the car's driver's seat letting out a long sigh.
"How does she know," I ask him, referring to the baby.
"I don't know,' He tells me, rubbing his forehead. He starts the car, pulling out into the road from the parallel park we were in. We were minutes from the house when his phone rings, both our eyes look down to see Tanner's name flash across the screen. "Son of a bitch." He picks up his phone with his right hand, swiping the screen.
"Detective Tanner," He addresses tightly. I can hear her voice through the phone, as I watch Toby's hands tighten around the steering wheel. "Okay, goodbye."
"What?" I ask him, the annoyance is clean on his face as he pulls nito the park spot behind the brew.
"Tanner needs me to go in for a bit, I'm not sure why," He tells me as he puts the car in park. "I'll be back soon, just go relax please. I'll be home as quickly as possible," He tells me honestly. I nod my head giving him a quick kiss on the lips before getting out of the car. I head up the loft stairs as Toby drives to the police station. I sit on the kitchen island for I don;t know how long staring ahead at the wall.I spot the newspaper clippings from the spot under the desk, I get up and moves towards them tugging out of the box I threw them on the counter top, moving them around on the table to scan what was on them once more. I look at the clock again, before letting out an angry sigh and whipping the tears from my face. I grab my phone and car keys form the table by the door and rush down the stairs. I start the car, driving off to the location set on my phone.
"God damn it," I mutter, smacking my hand down on the steering wheel when I notice that the address was over 40 minutes away. The sunsets behind me as I drive down the side roads that the UPS is forcing me on. I park in the apple orchard, grabbing a flash light from the trunk and start hiking through the woods. I wasn' sure what I was looking for but if it was a shot to save my baby I was taking it. I walked for what felt like hours, the only sound from the leaves crunching under my feet. I jump around when I hear something behind me. I flash the flashlight behind me in the direction that I thought it was coming from, hearing the feet coming closer.
"Spencer!" Toby's voice echoes through the woods. I step closer, confused by the voice. I see a flash light coming closer to me and soon his face is illuminated by the light. "I found her!" He yells back into the forest. He steps through the shrubs an angry look on his face as he walks towards me. He was about to scold me when the rest of the group came into view. Hanna was about to say something, I assume to scold me but I shush her when I hear a ringing.
"What? Don't shush me" She snaps at me. "You make me haul ass with an angry Toby to the middle of nowhere for what?" She continues on.
"Hanna shut up" I snapped at her. "Do you hear that?"
"Hear what!" Aria asks looking around.
"The ringing" I tell them. They all finally shut up when they hear it too, a soft ringing noise comes from under us. Caleb flashes his flash light up illuminating a pit of smoke rising from off into the woods. We all seem to move in an agreement to the smoke, eventually beginning to run through. I see it before anyone else does, Steel doors with smoke coming through the cracks.
"Call the police," Aria sya in shock as I run towards the door. We collectively pry open the doors letting the fury of smoke out. Down the stairs look like an underground bunker, the floor lit up from small lights on the ground. I begin to go down but Toby stops him. He looks like he is about to order all of us away and wait for the cops but he doesn't. He goes down first and I quickly follow suit. We all seem to come to agrence that this has to do with -A. We pile down into the hallway and walk down quietly. Toby's arm is wrapped around me and his other holds his police pistol. Something I think we are all directly happy he brought. We follow the hallway before coming across doors literally in the area. I squinted my eyes stepping in front of Toby and to what is my room. I feel Toby hot on my heels as I take in the sight in front of me.
"What is this?" Caleb asks, looking into Alison's room that was on the right of us.
"-A lair," Hanna says as she steps into the door frame of what would be her bedroom. I shake my head as I walk into my room. Everything spots on the tea, even Toby's rocking chair sits in the corner.
"No, it's -A's dollhouse," I tell them, turning round to look at the wall. The woods smeared in red paint, 'Welcome Home' across the fake closet doors.
