3rd Person POV:
The remaining members of the Occult club walked towards the pool with a newfound sense of determination. They were going to catch a despicable murderer and help bring justice to their fallen classmates. They were no longer going to be just those weirdos who believed in lies and conspiracies. As they walked towards ground zero, nobody dared to even whisper. If some of the members could, they would stop breathing. No one wanted to mess up this fragile moment of being on the verge of something great. They had purposely chosen to perform this ritual during club activities. The pool area would be completely empty meaning that both the school and they would have no distractions. They would get to the bottom of the murder of Osana and quite possibly a lot of other fallen classmates. The anticipation in the air was palpable.
Oka POV:
As we climbed up the slippery ascent to the pool, much was running through my mind. I could not wait to figure out who could be behind these murders. I desperately needed to know who was killing almost anyone after they got close to me. Whoever they are they have made my already tough life even harder. I have transformed from being just another weird creepy girl to being that weird creepy girl that has death hovering above her head. If it wasn't for Kaga, I definitely would have lost my sanity a long time ago. He has been so sweet to me. He has stood by me when everyone else has doubted me or abandoned me, well besides my club mates but that is a given. He has begun to change me for the better. Throughout my time with Kaga, I have begun to become far more confident around him. Despite all the death surrounding me and being even more isolated than ever before, having that reassuring person in my corner has done wonders for my self-image.
We walked to the edge of the pool to where I had seen the spirit previously. Sure enough when we got close enough that orange ball of light appeared above the controlled waters of the pool. I look around at the other club members and give out directions.
"O-Ok you all should know what to do. Place the c-candles in their proper positions and light them. Then come and create a semi-circle around the pool with me at the center. Please f-follow my directions carefully or I w-will be trapped between dimensions."
The other club members nod and begin the procedure. They set up the candles in a semi-circle facing the pool, light them with a lighter, and begin sitting down in a semi-circle around me. Once I see that everyone else is ready, I begin the chant. Compared to the chants I am used to; this chant is brief.
"Trapped soul, lost spirit, we come to the place of your untimely demise to commune with you." We chant in unison, our voices a carried over the calm breeze like a thick fog. "We brought forth our most spiritually literate to serve as your voice to the living." The chanting reaches a highpoint. "PLEASE SPIRIT, BREAK THE INVISIBLE WALL SEPARATING THE WORLD OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD AND LET OUR GUIDE COME TO YOU SAFELY!"
All of a sudden, I am surrounded by a bright hot light and then my vision turns completely white. My soul leaves my physical body sitting there at the pool. My essence then travels across the spiritual void to the world of the dead.
I come to inside what looks to be a girl's bedroom. However, the colors of the room are dull, almost white even. I look around my surroundings more and I see Osana, her silhouette pulsating an orange-colored energy. She looks up at me in relief.
"Oka! I don't know what you did but I heard you and the occult club chanting. I suddenly had a compulsion to knock down my wall. I did that with a sledgehammer and you just came flying through. Good thing this wall is only made up of- wait I have no clue what it is made of. Well shit!"
"Don't worry O-Osana, it is p-part of the ritual. Now I need you to answer some questions about your murder."
Osana's eyes immediately began to show signs of anger and hatred.
"YEAH, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT?! I GOT STRUCK DOWN IN MY PRIME BEFORE I COULD DO ANYTHING WITH MY FUCKING LIFE!" Osana screamed at me, a howling storm racing across the land.
"O-O-Osana p-please l-l-let m-me-" I shyly remarked, beginning to feel nervous.
"NO, LET ME SPEAK!" Osana yelled, cutting me off midsentence. "YOU CAME HERE TO LISTEN TO ME WHINE AND YELL ABOUT BEING MURDERED! WELL LET ME DO THAT FOR YOU! I WAS STRUCK DOWN BY A COWARDLY BASTARD WHO DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE BALLS TO FIGHT ME DIRECTLY!"
Anger began to well up inside me. I was expecting Osana to be kind and considerate and to answer my questions peacefully. That was all I ever wanted. Why does she have to get all pissed off at me? I had nothing to do with this.
"I WAS GETTING MY LIFE BACK TOGETHER AFTER LOSING TARO! BUT NOPE I HAVE TO DIE! I SWEAR IF I GET A CHANCE I WILL BE-"
"SHUT UP OSANA! I GET IT YOUR ANGRY! BUT WE WILL NEVER SOLVE THIS IF YOU DON'T QUIET DOWN!" I yell at Osana. I lost my patience with her whining and complaining. Osana went silent right away and looked at me with a shocked expression on her face. She had clearly not been expecting this.
"Thank you. Now may I continue?" Osana nodded.
"Ok, so what I need to know is who was the person that is responsible for your death?" I ask. I feel my nervousness begin to spike. This could be anybody at the school, maybe even a member of my own Occult Club.
"I have reason to believe that the person who killed me was Kaga Kusha," Osana stated. If I were in my physical body, I would feel my heart begin to sink. How could Kaga do this? No this must be incorrect. Kaga could never kill someone. He is too nice to kill someone. I need to clear this up with him immediately.
"Thank you Osana, that is all."
"OKA WAIT!" Osana yells. Before she says another word my vision again goes white as my soul leaves through the hole in the wall of Osana's spiritual resting site back to my physical body.
I open my eyes sitting in front of the pool, surrounded by the curious faces of my fellow club members. They immediately begin asking me questions.
"What did Osana say?" Asked Daku with hope clearly visible in his eyes.
"She said nothing." I immediately felt all the anticipation among the club members dissipate. "She just complained and yelled at me about her death."
"Well I guess that wouldn't be too out of place for Osana, now would it" Kokuma joked with a voice laced with disappointment.
"Anyways, I don't want to talk much about it right now. Everybody pack up and head out. I will see all of you guys tomorrow at the regular time."
As everyone dispersed with their heads held low, one thought dominated my mind, I need to find Kaga now. I need to discuss this with him right now. I need to hear what he has to say for himself. Our relationship as friends (and maybe even more than that) depends on it.
