Musume POV:

"Kaga Kusha."

I spit out the rascal's name like it was venom. In a sense it is. That asshole has taken everything from me everything. My friends, my social status, my yanstagram followers, even my enrollment in Akademi. All for that weirdo who believes in demons and shit. I mean, oh my god, I stopped thinking there were monsters in my closet after I was six. Either way, I need to make him feel my pain. My father is too busy squeezing his 'clients' for money to care. I know, what a father. Not willing to protect this sweet little daughter. I mean buying me all the latest fashion does nothing if I can't flaunt it in front of literally everyone. I actually have to do it myself. How to do it though? A thought comes to me as I sit inside my neon pink room. I think I have the BEST idea. He will NEVER see this coming; I am sure of it.

Oka POV:

Oh, how much I hate gym class. I sit on a bench outside the gymnasium panting like a poodle in an oven. Sweat pours off my skin as rain would from the white clouds in the sky. I wheeze and hack my lungs out as I struggle with my own lungs to catch my breath.

"Come on Oka! Up you go! You still got a ways to go! If I could win the Olympic Gold Medal you can run to the end of that track and back three more times." The gym teacher barked like a drill sergeant yelling at a recruit.

"Y-Yes s-s-sensei!" I tiredly reply.

I attempt to stand on my buckling knees. I must keep going or sensei will mark me as incomplete. I am already almost flunking gym class. I must stop this freefall. It is going to be a long class.

Time skip to the end of class.

I must have several benevolent spirits or at least a lucky charm (not the cereal. -A/N) on my side today. I did not totally embarrass myself today. I feel a sense of accomplishment as I walk towards the girl's locker rooms like a zombie just learning how to walk. Every muscle in my legs feels like the devil is blowing fire onto it.

Suddenly, as I pass the swimming pool, I feel an unnatural presence watching me. It feels like an unnaturally cold breeze is blowing down my back. Death sure does have unusual ways of alerting us to its presence. I remember reading about this in my endless hours of study. This feeling surely means that a spirit is nearby, and I think I know where it is.

I climb up the moist and slippery stairs to the pool. Normally this pool is crammed full of students either for recreation or for class. Today it's chlorine waters are a peaceful mountain lake where no fish swim. As I near the edge of the pool, my sleep-deprived eyes comprehend an orange ball-like shape of energy. It is hovering above the damp ground. My hunch was correct, a spirit does reside here. I immediately know who the spirit must be.

"O-O-Osana, is that y-you? C-Can you s-speak?"

A gurgling sound is the only response I receive. It sounds human. Then I remember, Osana died via drowning. Her airway was blocked, therefore the only sound she could make was desperate gurgles. Therefore, her spirit cannot speak to humans naturally without some form of assistance. An assistant to help break through the spirit wall and communicate with the spirit directly, on its own terms. Then and only then can the spirit tell its dark secrets. Thankfully, I know just the ritual to break the spiritual wall.
