RIDWAN POV
Ali and i got to the university almost half an hour after we left the hotel.
"Mr Ridwan, please kindly come have a sit up here on the podium by the SRC president " The Deen of the school kindly said to me, I excused myself from Ali as i went to climb up the podium towards my reserved seat. Initially Ali and I were seated at the male guest section. The graduation ceremony commenced and everything was going on smoothly until I heard the host beginning an announcement.
"Now going to the first class student in Bachelor in Finance and overall best student of the school.... Miss Layla Abdullah! "
My heart skipped a bit, "Laya Abdullah, oh ALLAH, could it be my Layla " I whisper to my self as i stood up with the award medal in my hand ready to gift it to the person, she has the same name with my Layla, my eyes hungrily scanned the entire graduate section to see who is about standing up to come mount the podium for her award.
Lo and behold, she walked out from behind the third row, as she gracefully approached the podium, "God, it's her, my Layla " I whisper to myself breathlessly, my eyes are fixed on her as my lips curve in a very broad smile, I could feel my heart palpitate in my chest out of happiness, I am simply overwhelmed with joy, finally Allah has answered my prayers, she is coming to me, she looks so beautiful as usual in her blue dress which slightly highlights her curves, her graduation gown nicely covers it a bit, her head is nicely draped in a hijab as her black heels compliments her outfit perfectly,.. God, she sure is an angel, my angel. She seems oblivious of me watching her as she shyly mounts the stage, and begun shaking hands with the school's dignitaries except for the men, whom she only exchanges salam.
When she finally got to me being the last person to exchange salam (Greetings) with , she stands still, as she stares at me, looking shocked and I think happy, her eyes looked watery as a tear trickle down her cheeks, but why is she crying, I didn't even realize when a tear trickle down my own cheek, we stare at each other for I think about a minute, then the next thing I did surprised everyone, out of excitement I didn't know when I hugged her so tight, until the SRC president cleared his throat , we immediately pulled away from each other then I handed her, her award medal and scroll , then stood for the paparazzi to take us pictures, after which she shyly left.
After the whole coronation and ceremony was over everyone scattered around, engaging in several activities, such as chatting, laughing, some families had small parties. I went in search of Layla, I can NOT lose her again, God, how didn't I know she was in the same university in Paris, which i have often sponsored, and even it's Ali's kid sister's s university. Allah is indeed Great
Almost after ten minutes of active searching through various areas of the school, I find her with her mom and another grown hijabi woman, sitting under a tree in the school's garden.
