LAYLA POV

"oh Alhamdullilah mama!  I can't believe  am finally graduating today,  oh mama,  Allah has indeed been good to us by sending a guardian angel as Madam Zainab " I say to my mom who is sitting next to me over excitedly as I continue to grin from ear to ear showing off my well structured white teeth then placed my hand on her palm,  squeezing it in the process out of happiness.  It has always  been my dream to graduate from the university among one of the prestigious schools in Paris. We actually travelled to stay here in Paris and I also school,  few weeks after we moved in with Miss Zainab,. I just couldn't contain my joy, the road hadn't been easy but Alhamdullilah now I am graduating with a decree in Finance, then get a job in madam Zainab's company as head of the Finance department.

"Oh sweetie,  yes Alhamdullilah,  I am so proud, of the woman you have become,  you have made me so happy and proud.. (sob)  how i wish your dad is still alive to see this day,  he be so proud you know  (sob).  "  my mom emotionally says to me as she wipes her tears away with the back of her palm.

"Oh mama, are you crying today of all days, " I softly say to my mom almost getting emotional myself.

"Hey you two. Don't you dare start with your cries,  otherwise am taking you both to go grab some ice-cream at the restaurant near by,  don't care if we miss the graduation " This is Mrs Zainab speaking as she firmly grabs hold of the car wheel, she so loves having ice cream, we all giggled at her compliment, we are actually in her car. My mom and i are sitting at the back sit as she drives us to my university for my graduation.

"Oh believe me these are all tears of joy,  sweetie,  ...and Miss Zainab,  we are so grateful to you for such tremendous help and kindness you have shown my daughter and I over the past few years. It is only Allah IN heaven who will richly bless you both in this world and the next "  my mom says with smiles.

" AMEEN,  and it's Allah we all have to give thanks to  ...wow,  we are already at the entrance of our little princess,  ...see who is finally becoming a woman of her own. ". Mrs Zainab teased me as she drives through the university gate... Seeing through the car window , the whole compound is crowded with guests and students in their graduation gowns.

Madam Zainab parked at the parking lot as we all made our way out of the car.

"Layla, Laylaa!! "  oh girl you are looking ravishing in your blue gown,  you simply glowing,  am sure all the guys will be all over you today... As usual hahaha "   my three best friends I made in the university came rushing towards us,  me to be precise,  as Nasrin complimented my looks.

"Oh yes girl. Indeed you look stunning " Lashmin and Ruki joins in as they squealed around me in excitement, making me laugh out loud, I bet they are excited as I am to finally graduate today .

"oh Salamualaikum Mrs Abdullah,  and madam Zainab " They greeted both of them in unison,  who were apparently also laughing at our reaction.

"Wa alaikum salamualaikum," they both replied

"You guys better get going. I guess the coronation will begin any moment from Now " miss Zainab further said to us

"Yes , don't worry sweetie,  we will be right in the front seat. At the parent and guardian section,  watching you " my mom sweetly said to me and gave me a hug.
My friends and I excused ourselves and walked towards the graduates section .

Thirty minutes later after everyone was seated,  the Deen of the school came forward on the podium,  to address the Audience,  then after,  some dignitaries of the school also came to deliver their speech,  the cheers and applauds came through then eventually died down as the announcement for the first class student came through, they are given the privilege to go onto the podium to have hand shakes with the dignitaries and then given a scroll.

"Now going to the First Class student for Finance plus overall Best student of the school.... Miss Layla Abdullah! " oh ALLAH,  wow that's me,  ...I am simply overwhelmed with joy, it's indeed a privilege and honor to be awarded as the overall best student of such a prestigious university.

So I stood up, from where I sat at the third row and shyly but gracefully walk towards the podium, though my eyes were bent down , I could still feel alot of eyes sharply looking at me as the cheers and applauds fills the air.

"That is my daughter!! " I hear my mama say out loud with Pride, a tear or joy trickle down my cheeks.

I finally found myself on the podium then begun shaking hands with the dignitaries who were women but only exchanged salam with the men as it is Haram to touch a non mahram,  and the school being half dominated by Muslims are fully aware and in support of that.
When I got to the last person to whom am to exchange salam with and also being the same person to gift me my award medal and scroll,  my heart skipped a bit.
