Now, I don't exactly hate Stefan, because frankly enough, I used to love him; but rewatching the show several times has made me realise that he's not the prefect little brother he portrays himself to be, and sometimes he'd take his hero complex too far.

Firstly, there's this whole argument about him saving Elena, and people saying he did it because he's a good person and not because she looked like Katherine, so I'll let you guys argue over that. But what bugs me is the fact that he stalked her for months after the accident, and he told Lexi that "it was the resemblance the drew me in". And you can say what you want, but to me, the only reason he fell for Elena was because he wanted to repeat history, he wanted to have with Elena what he couldn't with Katherine, and he fell in love with her because he got to relive what he wanted.

I'm not hating on him, because I do like him, but I just don't appreciate how he portrays himself as this all righteous vampire who lived in denial- and because of that, he never really learned from his mistakes, and it's also why everyone in the fandom constantly defends his bad actions and decisions. What troubles me is that he plays the good guy, he's supposed to be the protagonist, so I'd expect him to live up to that, but this guy has done some shit that was way worse than the things Damon, and a lot of other vampires, had ever done.

Another thing that annoyed me is how he treated Caroline. Unlike with Elena, he didn't prioritise her, and if he knew he couldn't do it, he shouldn't have continued his relationship with her.

And don't even get me started on the whole Elena and Katherine situation omds. When Elena found out he was a vampire, the first thing he should've told her is that it was her ancestor who turned him- but no, he waited until she found the picture of her (right after she and stefan had just slept together), and then the idiot decided to tell her she's adopted instead of explaining who Katherine really was 💀

Secondly, whenever Elena would confront him about something, he'd always bring Damon into it, saying things like; "Did Damon tell you that?/ It's just Damon messing with your head/ Don't listen to him" and he'd just change the subject and victimise himself- like bitch no, you've been caught, quit lying and fess up.

Moving on; Killing Vicki was a stupid thing to do. I mean, Stefan was like a fucking fairy godmother of vampires, he could've easily helped her through her transition, like he did with Elena and Caroline, but no, he killed her, and just to save Elena- and that was also inconsiderate asf, did he even think about how Elena would feel, having to carry around the fact that her boyfriend killed her best friend's sister just to save her??

And his whole hero complex was just a big fucking scam because he was objectively a really terrible person/vampire. I hate it when people compare him to Damon and say that Damon was worse than him , because in reality , Stefan was much more cunning and manipulative than his brother, and always excused the bad things he did just because he thought he was a good guy.

And before people start saying that Damon was a bad guy, let's just rewind to when Stefan forced him to turn. It was hella selfish, and Damon didn't want it at all, and well, the rest is history. But every bad thing Damon has done as a vampire is undoubtedly the consequence of Stefan manipulating him into turning, and telling him how amazing it is to be a vampire- ofc, he was lying. I mean i get it, he's your brother, but why couldn't he have just let him die like he wanted instead of living on as a creature he hated. Because of him, Damon lived out his vampire life completely hating himself and what he had turned into :/

And trying to get the cure for Elena? So many people are blind to it, and don't even see how bloody selfish it was. We all know he didn't want Elena to be a vampire, and he so desperately wanted her to take the cure simply to fathom his own desires. And this is why Damon was the better man ladies and gents, because despite everything, he was able to love Elena as both a human and vampire.

And it's one of the many reasons why I began to hate Stelena; because he simply just became obsessed with her. He wouldn't let her make her own decisions, and sometimes even went as far as not telling her the plan, therefore not giving her a choice, or a chance for her to even give consent, sometimes even forcing her hand on things she really didn't want to do, (eg killing Rebekah)

Also- TRYING TO DRIVE ELENA OFF A BRIDGE? BITCH-. I know he wasn't actually gonna end up killing her, but scaring her and making her think she was going to die the same way as her parents had?? And all just to blackmail Klaus? I mean, was revenge really more important to him than the girl he claimed to love? Chile, anyways..

And that's why I sometimes hate Stefan ❤️
