Nico opened the door and instead of the usual cheerful boy standing on the other side, Percy was rubbing his neck in a nervous manner waiting for the shorter one of the two to talk.

"Hey Neeks..." he said with an awkward chuckle.

He knew what was coming and it was honestly surprising that the Italian didn't start shouting and lecturing the latter the moment he opened the door.

He may be younger, but to say Nico was mature one in their friendship basically summed it all up.

Said boy only rubbed his side temple and sighed as he shuffled out of the way for the tanned male to step inside.

Closing the door behind him, he didn't say anything except giving a small hum and turning towards the small kitchen.

"Nico-"

"Want anything?" Asked the Italian as he preoccupied himself with taking things out of the fridge.

The fact that the smaller one of the two was trying to completely avoid the topic altogether made the situation more unsettling for Percy.

Sure, he knew he made a stupid decision, but it wasn't like be could take it back. What was done, was done and now he would have to live with the consequences.

Even if those consequences included Nico full on ignoring the elephant in the room.

A plate slid across the counter, more or less in the direction where Percy stood. The tanned boy approached it with caution before taking a bite out of his food.

"Nico could you at least say something?"

The Italian sighed and set down the knife he was holding. "What do you want me to say, Percy? Scold you for getting more tattoos? What good would that do?"

He walked around the counter and stood in front of the silent male.

"I'm sorry," whispered Percy, not able to look at the shorter one of the two.

His arms bathed in pools of ink with many intricate drawings and designs, each telling a different story.

Or maybe they weren't stories.

Maybe this was Percy's way of inducing pain on himself without it being noticeable. The small sting that he felt when the needle pierced his skin creating a silent promise to forever stay. Maybe that was what brought the boy so much comfort.

But no one would ever know what was going on in that head of his.

Maybe that's why each image seemed distorted, looking like nothing at all, but looking like everything at the exact same time.

Representing his thoughts:

All distorted and piled in the large expanse of his head but overall a mesmerizing beauty when laced together.

The feeling of small, cold hands gently gripping onto his forearms brought Percy to finally look into those dark brown orbs he had been avoiding since the moment he stepped into the latter's apartment.

Those dark brown orbs that seemed to be his only anchor at the moment.

"Don't go regretting what you did," Nico started saying. "If you're gonna regret every wild thing you do in life, you won't really get anywhere."

The Italian's finger traced the fresh pools of ink that covered his arms. "Besides, it shouldn't be my reaction that you should fear..." A small smirk appeared on the shorter boy's face. "Your mom still doesn't know."

Which was true, actually. Percy had set straight for Nico's apartment when he got out of the tattoo place. Sally was still unknown of where her son had been all afternoon and she would surely have a heart attack when she finds out.

Percy groaned, letting his head fall of Nico's shoulder as he thought of his mother's reaction. The latter loosely wrapped his arms around the tanned male rubbing comforting circles on his back.

"If it makes you feel any better," there was a slight pause- almost as if he were trying to carefully choose out his words. "The look suits you."

One of the good things coming from the current position they were in was that Percy wasn't able to see the other boy's face. It glowed a vibrant red as he hid his face in the other's shirt. The world really did hate Nico because those tattoos?

Hot Damn.
