Quinn, child of Hermes
It was almost sunrise, and yet Quinn was the only one at the big house. It wasn't unusual for them to be early, but they had expected at least one of the other counselors to be there by now. Quinn sighed, and turned to their best friend, Claye, who had decided to come and see the group off. "Nobody's here- that's a surprise." Quinn said, laughing softly. Claye raised an eyebrow, "Is it? Since when are any of the other counselors early to anything?" "You have a point." Claye nodded and laughed, "exactly." Quinn smiled softly and turned back towards the other cabins, waiting for the others. "You sure your ready?" Claye asked softly. Quinn nodded slowly, "I am... I have to help my father, and I have to help my friends." They said, "Although I do wish you could come along..." they said the last part quietly. Claye nodded sadly, "I do too... but you'll be alright, I have faith in you." they said, half smiling. "Wow thanks," Quinn laughed, "I appreciate it." Claye patted Quinn's shoulder, and smiled. "I'll miss you." they said with a sigh. "I'll miss you too. But we'll keep in contact- hopefully." Quinn said. Claye nodded. "That we will-" they turned towards the cabins, just as the door to cabin 6 swung open, and Grace walked out. Claye nudged Quinn, and they turned towards Grace. "If it isn't my baby sister." Quinn teased, as Grace got closer. "Ok first of all, I'm 16, I'm hardly your baby sister anymore, and second of all, we're stepsisters." Grace laughed and rolled her eyes at the same time. "I know, I know, but in my eyes, you'll always be my baby sister." they said. Grace sighed and set her backpack on the ground, against the big house, she turned to Claye, "Your coming too?" Grace asked, a hint of confusion in her voice. Claye shook their head, "Nah, I'm not allowed to, seeing as my mom isn't really involved in this whole thing-" the explained. Grace nodded, "I see," she looked around, "I'm surprised nobody else is here yet." Quinn nodded, "Me too, although I guess the others are saying their goodbyes." Grace and Claye both nodded. "Yeah that's true." At that moment, the Iris cabin door swung open, and Quinn could see Sage and Nadia hugging in the doorway. The door closed, and Sage walked down towards the big house, her eyes full of fear and sadness. The rest of the counselors began to leave their cabins, some wearing brave expressions, or looking prepared for anything and everything, and some with bloodshot eyes and tear stained faces. Laura and Lilly were the last to arrive, leaving the Poseidon cabin together. Once they arrived at the big house, Chiron stepped out, he smiled sadly before walking down the stairs to be with the campers. "Good morning demigods!" he said, trying to sound upbeat, to lighten the mood, but failing miserably, "We'll be sending you out once the sun begins to rise, but first, we need to split you into your questing groups, seeing as you can't all go together." Chiron said. There was soft chatter among the counselors, and Chiron pulled a small piece of paper out of his pocket. He unfolded it and cleared his throat. "So, we'll have the children of Demeter, Dionysus, and Hades going after the cornucopia, so Morgan, Raylee, and Mak." he read from the page. Morgan sighed softly. "This is going to be a long trip- isn't it..." she muttered under her breath. Chiron continued to read. "The children of Hermes and Zeus, plus Laura, will be hunting down the caduceus, so Quinn, Anna, and Laura." Quinn and Anna smiled at each other, Laura nodded, glad she didn't have to spend the quest with a boy. "Going after the trident will be the children of Poseidon, Hephaestus, and Apollo. So Lilly, Brooklyn, and Abigail.'' The three girls stayed still, although a small smile formed on Abigail's face. "And going for the golden apple is the children of Aphrodite, Ares, and Athena, Sage, Jackson, and Grace." Chiron finished reading just as the sun began to rise. "Lady Artemis and I spoke over an iris message just a few hours ago, and we believe that the cornucopia may be in New jersey, the Caduceus somewhere in texas, the Trident on the coast of florida, and the golden apple somewhere in washington. Good luck demigods, make me proud." Chiron smiled faintly before turning back into the big house. Before leaving, everyone said their goodbyes to each other. "Bobby wanted me to tell you to contact her if you have any problems." Quinn overheard Anna whispering to Sage, who nodded softly. Quinn stood and watched everyone else hug, or whisper, and before long, Morgan was guiding Ray and Mak out of camp. Then Sage and her group left, then Lilly and hers. Soon the only people left standing there were Quinn, Anna, and Laura, both of which seemed to be getting impatient. Quinn turned back to Claye, who was still standing there. They hugged Claye tight. "I'll see you soon..." Quinn said quietly, before gesturing to Laura and Anna, and turning to leave camp.
