Morgan, daughter of Demeter, 14 days left
Morgan stepped over the border, into the mortal world, and turned around to face Ray and Mak. "Well? Are you coming? Hurry up." she said. Ray sighed, "this is going to be loads of fun, I can already tell." she said sarcastically. "Oh yes definitely." Mak rolled his eyes and they stepped over the border. The three walked in silence, until they were far enough from camp that they could no longer see the border. Morgan stopped walking, and Ray and Mak stopped quickly to avoid collision. Ray rested her hand on the handle of her dagger, and Morgan looked down at the weapon. "You don't need to be holding the knife at all times you know." she said. Ray sighed softly, but didn't let go. "Why are we stopping?" Mak asked, already looking around, in case they were being followed. Morgan pulled a small map out of her pocket and unfolded it. She ran her finger along the map and a dark green line appeared. "We're here," Morgan said, pointing to the beginning of the line, "And we're going to follow the line, more or less, until we're here." she pointed to the other end of the line, which ended in New Jersey. Mak took the map from Morgan, and Ray looked over his shoulder. "Hey!" Morgan protested, "Give that back!" she tried to grab the map, but Mak held it high above his head. Mak laughed softly, "Aww, is shorty struggling?" he teased. Morgan blushed softly. "No, I'm not even that short! You're just really tall." she said, jumping high enough that she could grab back the map. "Ray's shorter than me anyways." Morgan said, pursing her lips and turning to look back at her map. "I'm not that short-'' Ray muttered, Mak shook his head and laughed softly. "Sure you aren't." Morgan shot them a look, "Shush you two." she said, stepping closer and showing them the map. "We'll follow the map as best we can, but we'll have to go through Pennsylvania instead of straight through to New Jersey." she explained. Ray nodded, "Ok, shouldn't be too difficult, let's get going. The sooner we find the cornucopia, the better, right?" she said. "Yeah." Mak agreed, "Morgan, lead the way."
Morgan began to walk, not even stopping to make sure Ray and Mak were following. As long as she could remember, groups of 3 had been sent on quests. More than 3, and chances were good that someone wouldn't come back. But honestly, Morgan would've much rather done it by herself. Before arriving at camp, she had handled all her problems alone. But now she had a job to do, plus two other demigods she had to tolerate. Morgan sighed, this was going to be much more difficult than she had thought originally. She tilted her head upwards slightly, as if her mom was up in the sky, watching her every move. "Why did you have to do this? Blame the others, choose sides, sure that's easy enough for me to fix. But send two more heroes to help. Thanks mom. Thanks a lot." she muttered sarcastically, as she walked. Ray walked closely behind, and she sheathed her dagger before speeding up just enough to walk side by side with Morgan. "You know you don't have to be like this." Ray said, not making eye contact with the other girl. Morgan turned quickly to look at Ray, her dark eyes full of hate. "Be like what?" she asked. Ray sighed, "This. I know what's running through your head, you think you can handle all this alone. But you can't, and you need to accept that whether you like it or not, we have to work together." Ray said. Morgan turned away from Ray. "I don't know what you're talking about." she said, walking a little faster, in attempts to get away from Ray. "Sure you don't." Ray rolled her eyes and walked back to Mak. Ray shook her head and sighed again. "She won't admit to it, but I know she doesn't want us here." Ray said to Mak, unaware that Morgan could still hear her. "Sooner or later she'll realize that she can't handle everything alone." Mak replied. Morgan scoffed softly. As much as she hated to admit it, both Ray and Mak were probably right. It was very unlikely that she could complete the quest alone, and eventually, her pride was going to overrule her common sense, and ruin everything.
Aaaaand we're getting into the story! I love writing in Morgan's perspective I'm not going to lie, its a lot of fun. Hope your enjoying the story! -Sparks
