My gazes sweep past Luke and Richard, both sitting on the couch and feeling nervous because of my gaze. "I promised that I would explain." I said. "And what I am going to explain, is confidential material. You can't tell anybody." both men nodded. "The six of us, are members of a military black ops team assembled when we served in Afghanistan. We were known as Elite Alpha."
"Afghanistan?" Richard asked. "You never said anything about Afghanistan."
"It's my experience, I decide myself whether to tell or not." I said. "Luke and I were deployed to Afghanistan together but not in the same troop."
"Wait, the afternoon at the dining hall." Luke popped up. "Was that-"
"Yes." I said. "Our team reports to the general known as George Duncan along with our commanding officer, whom Richard probably known on TV." Richard seemed perplexed at first but soon remembered. "George Duncan, reports directly to The Pentagon."
"But what factor prompted the explosion back there?" Richard asked.
"There are shadows, unknown forces, out to hunt veterans who came back from Afghanistan. I can't be sure but, the six of us, are considered targets by the dark forces hiding behind the scenes." I said. "But I believe that Luke won't be safe as well."
"How can you say so?" the man himself asked.
"There has been reports of murders of veterans who served in Afghan, including Canada and Australia. So far the crows haven't made their move on US and UK vets."
"Crows? As in you know the name?" Richard asked. I shook my head, trying my best to not smile. But Luke laughed instead.
"Dick, crows means the bad guys. It's Delta Squad talk." Luke explained. "You and Bruce didn't go to boot camp."
"And why did you guys salute at him?" he then asked.
"Harold Manchester was the commander of the SAS regiment in Afghan, that's why we know him." Dominic replied for me. "Part our CO part commander of the SAS."
"Still I don't know the man with you." Richard said. "But I heard two words : Unicorn and Lion. What does that mean?" Most of us cringed in sympathy. But Richard paused and think back hard. "That's... that's MI6."
"You still don't know." Dominic said in sympathy. "The man we've met, is Roland Churchill, Isabella's uncle and the chief of MI6." then everybody's eyes went wide as saucers.
"Your uncle is MI6?!" Luke nearly jumped out from his chair. "Man, this is really big."
"Oh really?" I mused. "Bruce never informed you."
"I noticed the connection, since Isa told me earlier." Olivia replied, not batting an eye after the reveal. "But chief of MI6? No idea."
"And this is why we agree to have Isa at the helm." Jason said. "After all she has three high-ranking uncles in the South Korean military."
"Problem solved. Anything else?" I asked. Everybody shook their heads. "Right, we should get to work. We'll go through the files first, then we'll perform a full analysis to find out who is our crows."
"Unfortunately," Uncle Roland then popped his head into the room. "The files are kept in the building at the Vauxhall Cross." I then shook my head in disappointment.
"Is it late?" I asked. He glanced at the clock and the clock showed seven p.m. local time. Entering the living room he grabbed the remote control and turned on the television anchored to the wall, tuning into BBC News.
"Good evening," the anchor greeted. "The House Of Commons has passed a new law to settle the issue relating to the controversial amount of the minimum wage proposed by the Opposition." the scene then cuts to the House of Commons chamber, replaying the debate as my godmother, Prime Minister Madeline Gray's voice sliced through the chamber. The footage lasted for ten minutes and the footage cuts back again to the studio. "Oh... one moment please." the anchor said, pressing a finger against the earpiece in his ear and the word 'BREAKING NEWS' adorned the screens installed in the broadcasting studio. "We have breaking news from the United States where after a violent chase and car crash the Vice President of the United States, Isabella Reagan, has disappeared. There is limited information regarding this developing story but according to our Washington correspondent the crash happened at around eight o'clock local time. The vice president wasn't alone as six more individuals were identified from the surveillance camera footage : Dominic Hayes, who is the new Secretary of Defense in the second Reagan Administration, Jason Roosevelt, Olivia Wilson, Lincoln Jefferson, Gerald Carter and the vice president's Secret Service agent Timothy Brock."
"And we became famous in a wrong way." Jason said.
"We will have more information as the story develops." Gerald promptly snatched the remote and turned off the TV.
"I'm going there tomorrow." I said. "Anybody wants to come with me?"
