In the newly unlocked case, lays a futuristic looking white color drone. A remote control accompanies the package with another note and Jay read it while I take a look at the drone. "It's from LGF." he said. "Good luck with this new drone, it's not yet in the military but you guys would've appreciate it."
"I guess that this new thing comes directly from The Pentagon." I said. "Maybe-"
"Maybe the President wants us to get the job done and provided us the latest gear."
"Jay? You sure?"
"Maybe. From what I heard on Neptune Spear they sent a team of Navy SEALs to do the job."
"And you think that we're a similar SEAL kill squad?"
"Should ask Gerry, he spent time with the SEALs before getting transferred to Burqa."
"Did someone mention my name?" the man himself came out to the campfire. "I heard a drone fly by. Anything happened?"
"Dropped off this package." Jay said, showing him the case. "New drone, state of the art."
"Cool." he said, looking at the new toy. "Dom would've liked this."
"Guys? Got a call from the commander back at Burqa." Dom said, walking out from the tent we used as a makeshift communication center. "The commander wants us to attack two nights later."
"What about the President?" Jay asked. "Hold up, who gave the kill order?"
"The commander said it's from The Pentagon." Dom said. "The SAS guys are radioing in their commander for further instructions."
"What about the South Koreans?" Jay asked.
"Their commander told the soldiers to follow our lead." Dom said, running a hand down the back of his head. "I'll let Isa do the talking."
Two days later
Night falls as we assembled for the mission to take down one of the leaders of the Taliban. Checking our gear to ensure everything is ready I shouldered my M4 carbine as Dominic surveyed the members of our squad, all armed and ready for action. "Here's how we do this soldiers." he said. Then in the makeshift tactical room Dom rolled out a map detailing the size of the area we will launch our attack. "Alpha team will head in straight from the east side to take out the guards guarding the back door. Bravo will take on the west, the SAS guys will attack the convoy that have left an hour ago. Our intel says that Masir would be alone here in the safe house acting as his private compound. Our objective is to kill him."
"We're attacking blindly in the night?" Gerry teased his cousin.
"Put those glasses on." Dominic replied, keeping his composure in check. "Isa, is the drone ready?"
"Ready when you are."
"As another commander would you like to say something?" My gazes darted between the teams.
"Don't screw up." I said. "All right, move out!"
Half an hour later
Trekking on the long road towards the compound dressed in our combat uniforms we kept quiet to avoid detection in the cover of night. Wearing night vision goggles we turned them on before starting the journey towards the safe house. Dominic and I have planned out our operations days ahead : Alpha team breaks in through the east and Bravo team the west, Alpha team will head straight to kill the target while Bravo sweeps the compound for explosives or hazardous materials. I lead Alpha, with Gerry and Jay in it with three more ROK soldiers while Dom leads Bravo with Lincoln and Olivia alongside Brian and the remaining two ROK soldiers. I have no idea what did Uncle Byun told Brian as he nearly fought with Dom when he learned that he will not be in my team. I laughed when Dom tell me the story and I told him that he didn't know about what I have experienced. "Very protective if you ask me."
"I think he's not convinced yet Dom." I said. "Don't worry, he'll know after this mission."
Foraging through the deserts we soon reached the compound. Alpha and Bravo took a knee behind a small building that acts as a guard post. "Put on your silencers. We don't want to draw fire." Peering inward through an open window I did a quick look around the interior. The compound's security didn't come cheap, surveillance cameras monitoring the facility for any threats besides the human security guards. "We need a hacker now. Bravo?"
"Got it. Jefferson, you're up." Dom replied. Jefferson scurried towards my side while I aimed my carbine at the back of the security personnel's head.
"I'll tag him and you hack into the systems. Got it?"
"Clear." Jefferson said. "Hang on a sec." taking out his tablet used for hacking he accessed the blueprints, including the power grid. "You need to take out the power first."
"And the silencer wasn't working?" I teased him. Jefferson smiled as the power in the security room went dark.
"I'm not saying it's working or not. And voila." aiming at the confused guard I fired the shot. The shot went off like a whisper as the bullet hits the target and the guard fell back, lying dead on the floor, blood pooling from the back of his head. "Okay... how do we get in?"
"I'll handle this." I said, taking out a lock picking kit from my backpack. Two minutes later I unlocked the door but nobody moved in. "Laser alarms." I said. Spraying a can of aerosol into the room the lasers appeared in the form of red lights.
"Does anyone knows gymnastics?" Dom asked.
"Keep a look out for threats." I said, handing Lincoln my backpack and carbine. Gymnastics is a muscle memory for me as I manuvered my way through the laser beams but testing it in the wild is a first since my days as a SHIELD agent. Working with them for almost three years it all came crashing down when the agency was exposed to the public with the fact that Hydra has been infiltrating it's ranks. I quit the agency after this and focused on my studies, then West Point came knocking when I finished my military service in South Korea. I was actually set to be deployed to the Afghan front when the academy came knocking and they too sent me there without knowing. I crouched down after passing the last hurdle and accessed the security systems, disabling the laser alarms.
