Chapter 3

Chapter title: The Park

Aaron's P.O.V

We sat at the park just talking and hanging out. All of us except for Aphmau, who decided to hang out with Thomas and his family instead of us. It hurts to think about that. That Thomas is slowly replacing us.

"Tommy! Come on! I wanna get ICE CREAM!" I familiar voice yelled out. We turn around to see Thomas being dragged by Aphmau to the ice cream shop down the road.

"I thought she was hanging out with his parents?" Laurance asked. Some of the other mumbled agreements. I stared at the pair sadly.
Once they were out of sight, we continued to talk.

"Did she lie to us?" KC asked. Katelyn shook her head.

"She would never lie to us though." Katelyn said.

"But she has before." Gene butted in. Dante, Zane, and Travis nodded. I didn't bother to try to defend Aph. I wanted to, but I couldn't. While the others argued over our raven-haired friend and her too close of a best friend, I got up and walked to the shop. I walk in to see Aphmau and Thomas eating ice cream at a table. They were laughing and talking about whatever. I couldn't help but stare at them.
Maybe they are dating...

I shake away my thoughts and walk up to them. "I thought you were hanging out with his parents." I say. They turned their heads to face me.

They smiled. "Oh we are. We went out to get food but then I saw this ice cream shop and you know how much I love ice cream so we had to stop." Aphmau explained.
So I guess she wasn't lying after all. I knew it. I turned to Thomas who was just admiring Aph. I felt a pit of jealousy rise up in me. Aphmau turned back to Thomas, who broke his stare. He turned to me and gave me a warm smile. Behind that smile though, was a threat. I could tell he didn't like my presence here for this long. Especially since I'm Aphmau's ex-boyfriend. I step away from the pair and sighed.

"I should probably get going now. The group is probably worried." I say walking away. I heard the two say goodbye, but I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard:

"So, when are we going to the protest?"

I turn around to look at Thomas and Aphmau one last time. "Around 5." Thomas said. I mumbled something under my breath and walked out the door.
I made my way back to where the group was. Once I sat down, all eyes went on me.

"Where were you?" Katelyn asked.

"O-oh, I went to the ice cream shop. I asked Aph what they were doing. They said that they were going to get food, but got side-tracked because Aph saw ice cream."  I explained.

  "Sounds like Aphmau." Garroth said. We nodded in agreement.
The rest of the the day was peaceful. But i couldn't get the thought of Aphmau going to a protest with a black man. She's gonna get herself killed out there.

Sorry for the short chapter and the wait. I had to get this out for y'all. But i haven't had any writing ideas for awhile (shocking) so I guess that's why. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy this chapter!
