"Ok, now when you walk in, you hold your posture straight. No frowning and absolutely no cuss words." The maid who bathed me spoke.

"O-ok I guess." I said as she narrowed her eyes to tell me to take what she said seriously. "I understand." She smiled and nodded before stepping into the room herself.

"Sir, miss Evans is here." She introduced my arrival.

"Send her in." I heard a dark husky voice and watched the maid usher me in. Swallowing down hard, I stepped into the room and took the first ever glimpse of my father.

He was well dressed, well preened and sat comfortably at the head of the table.

"D-dad..." I muttered as the maid lightly nudged me in the side. "I-I mean, sir." I corrected as she nodded and led me to the other end of the table. My father watched us intently as I sat quietly, the intimidation getting to me.

A plate of meat and vegetables was revealed in front of me as the maid then left. I wish she didn't. Now I'm stuck here with my father just a few meters away from me.

I didn't move. I didn't speak. I didn't do anything accept stare at my lap.

"So," my father began as I wearily lifted my gaze up to him. "Bailey Evans."

"Yes sir." I confirmed as he leant on the table, chin resting on his hands.

"Hmm..." He said looking away as I blinked back.

"W-what?" I stuttered as he leant back in his chair.

"I was just expecting more." More? My eyes carefully narrowed as my fists balled under the table.

"What's the supposed to mean?" He was pushing his luck. Rich man or poor man I don't care. He's technically my father and I have a right to voice my opinions.

"Maybe a few more words. More natural beauty. I can't exactly pinpoint it but I'm just not impressed." Did he really just insult me the first time we met? How low can he get?

"I'm sorry, is me being your daughter off putting?" I spoke with sarcasm and anger laced through my voice. His eyes narrowed as he sat up properly in his chair.

"Eat your food and go to your room. You have a busy day tomorrow and you've lost enough time as it is." I shook my head and pushed away from the table before standing up.

"I've lost my appetite." I muttered walking to the entrance. "Oh," I turned and looked back at him. "Nice to finally meet you dad." And with that, I walked off up the stairs.

What was mum saying about him being a gentlemen because I seriously don't think we're talking about the same people.

Then I saw a maid walking up the hall with a basket of folded clothes in her hands. Why was she still working at midnight?

"Excuse me!" I caught her attention as she blinked back at me. "Do you know where my room is?" She looked around to see if it was only us before nodding.

"Follow me." She spoke as we made our way down the hall where she came from. "In here." She gestured to an open door as I nodded.

"Thank you." She smiled and left as I entered the room and shut the door. This bedroom was amazing!

At least a million times better than my own bedroom. It had a balcony and a cool drift from the air conditioning flowing around the room.

My bed had to be a king sized with four bed posts each corner of it.

Stumbling to the bed, I fell fast first into the most comfortable bed I have ever laid on.

"This is perfect." I mumbled before curling up and relaxing. I must not have realized how tired I was because I can't remember anything past that moment.

I really did switch off like a light huh?
