The Light Goes Out

Unstable sat in his residence. He was waiting for someone. Someone he was close to.

He heard a knocking at his door and excitedly jumped up, running over to the door. He opened it and there stood an operative dressed in brown.

"RADIANT!"

Unstable launched himself and Radiant and hugged him.

"Hello, Unstable. Are you feeling radiant today?"

"SURE I GUESS"

"Cool!"

The two began to walk through the city, passing many civilians and waving to them. Radiant and Unstable were chatting amiably when a loud beeping began to echo through the city. Many of the civilians ran inside out of fear, not knowing what would happen next. Unstable and Radiant froze and both reached for their gun holsters when they saw 3 pairs of glowing eyes ahead of them.

"Oh, look at this! I guess Horrid was right, this will definitely be fun!"

"Haha! Of course he was right, Merciless."

Joyous and Merciless stepped out of the shadows, followed by a night wearing an astronaut helmet. While the first two nights had their guns at the ready, the other fumbled with his holster.

"Come on, Powerless!" Merciless chided, "You are slowing us down!"

Radiant lifted his gun and shot 2 bullets at Powerless, one missing him entirely and the other hitting his arm. Unstable then lifted his gun and began shooting maniacally at the other two while they dodged. Merciless then began shooting at Unstable while Joyous turned to Radiant. The gunfight began as bullets started flying in every direction. Suddenly, more eyes appeared behind the nights as the rest of the Coalition appeared. Radiant's eyes widened and he grabbed Unstable, running backwards while shooting at their enemy. Before he knew it, Unstable and Radiant were among the rest of their Union, who now began shooting at the Night operatives. Unstable pulled himself away from Radiant as he started to shoot a night operative known as Pleasant, who was taken by surprise and fell to the ground. 

"Unstable, duck!"

"QUACK," Unstable screamed as he kneeled, letting Macabre's bullet fly and hit Otherworldy, who kept fighting. However, Otherworldy was outnumbered by both Unstable and Macabre and he fell to the ground, injured, after about 3 minutes of ruthless fighting. 

Radiant fought against Turbulent, who was missing all his shots. Radiant quickly took him down before he watched Dynamic fall. Radiant shot at the three night operatives who were attacking him, and then dragged Dynamic out of the gunfire. 

"Stay here, Dynamic. I don't want you to accidentally get shot by one of us."

Dynamic weakly nodded his head in response. Radiant looked back and took a minute to analyze the fight. Emotionless and Practical were fighting Dauntless and Forseeable.

They should be fine.

Pleasant, Otherworldy, Turbulent, Powerless and Frivolous were down. However, Dreadful's uniform was soaked with blood from bullet holes and fell. Sorrowful tried to grab him before being shot in the arm twice and once in the torso. In reply, he shot his attacker, Illusionary, three times in the chest and watched as he fell before collapsing, too.

6 of them left, 9 of us.

That's when both leaders appeared. It seemed that before even a second had passed, they had spotted each other and were now exchanging gunfire. Radiant now ran back into the fight, upon returning, Joyous had seen him and began shooting at him. Radiant fought back and kept fighting as their friends and enemy dropped around them. Dauntless and Foreseeable were on the ground, but so was Placid and Benevolent.
