Dan left the room and I finished up putting groceries away. I sat on the couch, just as Jenna rang my cell.

“Hey!” I said excitedly into the phone.

“Want to go out and get some food?” she asked.

“Sure! I’ll come pick you up,” I said, grabbing my coat off the hook by the door.

“Dan! I’m going out with Jenna! I’ll be back later tonight!” I yelled to Dan.

“Alright!” he yelled back. I opened the door, locking it behind me, and got in my car and drove to Jenna’s flat.

I arrived at around 7, and sat with her on the couch. We said our hellos and kissed each other quickly. We started talking, and I started thinking.

Dan had been acting different ever since I had started dating Jenna. He would slink off whenever she came over, and wouldn’t ever come out with us and friends. But I figured it was just Dan being himself. He always had videos to work on, fans to reply to. He was a busy person. And he wouldn’t know that I was in love with him. I’d been in love with him since we’d met, but I never did anything about it, because he always told me about all the girls he’d snogged. He was straight, and if I told him I was gay, he wouldn’t think of me in the same way.

“What’s wrong, Phil? I asked if you wanted Chinese or Italian for dinner tonight,” Jenna said, looking at me worriedly. I must’ve spaced out.

“Yeah sorry. Um, I’m feeling kind of ill,” I lied. “I think I’m just going to head back to the flat.”

“Okay. I hope you feel better.” she said with a small comforting smile. I smiled back, and drove back to the flat.

I walked to Dan’s room to tell him I was back, when I realized he wasn’t in there. He was still here, his coat was on the hook, and his phone was on the nightstand. “Dan?” I yelled. No response. The bathroom door was shut, light streaming from the crack in the door. “Dan, are you in there?” I asked through the door.

“Yeah yeah I’m here hang on a second, I’ll be out shortly.” He said. I heard rushing around coming from the other side of the door.

“Are you okay in there?” I asked.

“Yeah no I’m fine I’ll just be a second.”

“Okay,” I said, and walked to the lounge. He was acting odd, even for Dan.
