Black and Blue

Chapter 7

It was three am in the morning, so it wasn't dawn yet. Matthew was fast asleep, when suddenly he woke up.

His eyes opened and he tried to budge but felt a hand around his stomach. He looked at his side and saw Sara sleeping, with her hands around him.

He didn't have a good feeling about it. He tried to remember what happened the day before. Sara proposed him and they kissed, but he never really said her a yes.

But then they drank a lot to celebrate and ended up sleeping together. They both were still naked so Matthew slowly put her hand aside and went out of bed to get dressed.

He was confused. Should he stay here? But he didn't really want to. He still didn't believe that despite his heartbreak some days before, he still slept with someone, that too none other than his friend, famous Sara!

He quickly had an internal battle in his mind. Does he love Sara? Nope. She's hot though, but nope, he never loved her. But he slept with her? He felt ashamed now. How could he?

And then the most scary thought came to his mind. Rolland! He was the one who brought Rolland to the party and then he abandoned him.

Without thinking anything else, he rushed out of the room and saw a couple of people passed out on the couch, while some on the floor.

He was advancing towards the door when one of the passed out person caught his eye. Yes it was Rolland.

Matthew was shocked and somewhere heart broken to see him like that. He quickly tried to wake him up but he was in a deep sleep.

So Matthew picked him up, thank his strong body and Rolland's thin and light body. He carried him towards the door and quickly called a taxi and went to his apartment.

It was almost dawn, and Matthew put Rolland on his bed. Then he went to the washroom to clean himself.

After awhile, Matthew was back to his room and sat down next to Rolland. He was still confused as to what had happened and what was supposed to happen.

He knew he didn't trust anyone, and all his friends felt fake. Even Sara, but they were close enough and Sara trusted him with her life. And... He never thought he'd hook up with her. It felt wrong. And again, Matthew didn't feel the same for her, the way she felt.

His heart just ached. And also the fact that he actually ditched Rolland at the party felt more wrong. He was the one who forced Rolland into the party and  then he's the one who left him to hook up with someone whom he didn't even love.

How could he even face Rolland now? And.. What would he think about him? So much for a friend Matthew has been. The sight of Rolland just hurt him.

And moreover he also ditched Sara! How would she  feel when she wakes up and finds that Matthew was gone?

Matthew was more frustrated than ever. He hated himself now. How could he ditch two people at once? And now he felt guilty to even blame his ex for ditching him, when he himself ditched two people in a single party.

He just couldn't take it. Rolland had no one but him!

Matthew went to the washroom again and looked at himself in the mirror. How much he hated himself now. Just one night, and now he has come to hate himself. Tears fell from his eyes and his face went red. He washed his face but what's the use? He still couldn't wash away the guilt or his faults.

He has broken the trust of two people. What should he do now? And how?
