16 years earlier (Deku is 5 years old)

Deku's POV

Mummy was driving to the doctors. I was having my quirk check today. I turned 5 a couple of days ago but my quirk never manifested so Daddy told Mummy to take me to see the doctor.

We pulled up and I hopped out the car. I was excited! I mean who wouldn't be, I was about to find out what my quirk is! As we entered the doctors I saw a child who looked to be a little bit older the me. Me and Mummy weren't going to be seen for a couple more minutes so I went to say hi.

"Hi" I said to the boy.

"Hello?" He replied glancing up to me.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya! What's your name?" I said sitting down next to the lonesome kid.

"T-Touya T-Todoroki" He stated sheepishly.

As we began playing with the toys I saw there were bandages underneath his sleeves. I caught a glimpse of one when he leant over to get a toy.

"Why do you have bandages on your arms, Touya?" I asked, careful with my wording.

He noticed his sleeve had come up and quickly tugged it back over his wrist, making the bandages unnoticeable under his thick sleeve.

"N-nothing! I j-just injured myself the o-other day that's all." He managed to stutter out.

Why did he stutter so much when I asked? I thought but before I could ask him my Mummy and me were being led to a room by one of the doctors to take the quirk tests.

After the tests me and Mummy went back out to the waiting room. I looked around the toy area but saw no sign of Touya. On the other hand I did see a blonde girl happily waiting on the chair next to Mummy. She looked pretty. Her hair was in pigtails with ribbons tying them off. She wore a beautiful teal dress with a bird logo in the middle.

"I like your dress!" I said startling the young girl as she didn't notice me sitting next to her.

"Thanks! I like your shoes, they're a pretty red!" She said admiring my signature red sneakers.

"Thank you! I'm Izuku Midoriya by the way!" I said excited that I had once again made a new friend whilst at the doctors.

"I'm Himiko Toga! Nice to meet you Izuku!" She replied also looking excited.

We played for a little bit before I had to go back into the doctor's room. I was jumping up and down when my name was called. I waved bye to Toga and promised I would see her when I got back out of the room.

We walked into the room and I sat down on a big green chair. It had a cushion on the bottom so I could sit comfortably on it as Mummy and the doctor began discussing the results of my tests. I wasn't listening all to well, but then I heard the doctor mention something about my quirk. I perked up at this and began listening intensely. (I don't know if you can listen intensely but I don't care so...)

No-ones POV

"So what quirk does Izuku have?" Inko asked curious for the doctors answer.

"I'm sorry mam-" The doctor started but before he could finished the anxious parent butted in.

"What are you sorry for? What happened?" She asked all of a sudden worrying for the young green haired child next to her.

"Well mam, your child is quirkless" He continued as he showed sympathy for the pair infront of him.

He didn't exactly want to tell them that but they had to know the truth. He felt sorry that the women had a quirkless child. After all, they're useless if they don't have quirks.

"H-how?" She asked not sure how to respond to what the doctor had just said.

"You see your child dosen't have a joint in his pinky toe. Therefore it's most likely he won't manifest a quirk, i'm sorry" The man said, again sympathy showing on all corners of his face.

" Thank you, doctor" The woman said standing up and getting ready to leave. "Come on Izuku we're going " she continued motioning for her son to take her hand and follow her out.

"O-Okay M-Mummy" The small boy said as he slowly jumped out the cushioned chair and followed the woman out of the white room.

Deku's POV
I-I'm quirkless? So I won't get a quirk?

I walked out of the room and walked next to my Mummy as we both started walking out of the doctors. As we came close to the exit doors I had spotted Toga again.

"I'll see you next time Toga!" I shouted over to her startling her from talking to who I was guessing is her Mom? She realised it was me and shouted back.

"Bye Izu!" She yelled as her Mom glared hard at her.

No-ones POV

The car ride with the Midoriya's was silent. No-one dared speak and break the silence.

Inko was trying to think up something to tell her husband about how their son was quirkless whilst Izuku was trying to think up a way to tell Katsuki the new information, trying to swallow the fact himself.

He didn't know how his friend was going to respond to the news, forget about Katsuki how was his Dad going to respond to the news.

His Dad hadn't been the most calm of people. One wrong move and he would have a shouting fit at you, and if you made him really angry? You would have evidence of his actions.

Despite his flaws both of the Midoriya's loved him. Izuku saw him as a loving father with anger issues and Inko saw him as a loving husband who liked the best from his family.

Boy how wrong they were. Their week wasn't going to be the best.

The worst thing in the Midoriya's family history was going to happen. Someone would die, someone would escape and one young greenete would never forget...
