The bald lecturer continues yapping on and on about God knows what. I am just six rows away from him and I can hardly see what's on the board. But that didn't matter to him anyway. The rewards of going to a state university. I feel awfully tired. I sit back and search through the small pouch I carry everywhere and bring out a rough book. It's awfully damaged, yet here I am, holding on to it like my life depends on it. I let my mind sway for a moment, trying to recollect the events of last night. The reason I now have this book.

The sky had turned to a threatening grey and I unfortunately have to be out here. Turner had called. Something to important to discuss on the phone, I guess. I pick up my phone and scroll through the contacts, before finding Turner's name.

'It's 11:00 pm, I have classes tomorrow, please hurry up' I quickly message him. By this time, the rain begins to pour more aggressively. With most shops closed, I retired to a small bench by the corner of the Prestigious 'Beauté et savoir'.

The building had been closed since 6 pm, most shops have retired by this time. I coil myself up on the bench, with a rough newspaper as my only protection from the now blistering cold. The city's quite dark, illuminated by a few lonely street lights arranged in a concentric circle, to match the fountain at the center of the town square. Of course this did very little to help me see.

A loud honk from Turner's car brought me back to reality. "Are you going to stay in the rain or get into this sweet ride!?" He shouts.

I stride carefully towards the car, not wanting to slip. I open the passenger door slowly and get in. Getting comfortable in the front seat, I reply, " 'sweet' isn't what I would call this ride." Hoping not to wet his car I sit on the edge of my seat and cuddle up as Turner moves the gear to drive; leaving the city front, towards downtown, until Turner parks by a small building.

"We're here." He says excitedly, as he hurries inside the building while I slowly trail behind. I remember this building. I've been here multiple times. Numerous research frontiers are carried out here. It's also the place Turner works.Running past some white halls all the while making sharp turns, Turner gets into the basement.

Still wet from the rain, I try to move my feet fast enough while still maintaining my balance. "What's the hurry!? I doubt you called me to come out by 11:00 pm for nothing!" I call out.

"Of course, I didn't!" he yells back. I can tell he is overly excited.S

topping suddenly, he turns back with a look of horror in his face.

"Oh no... Where are my manners? Would you like a towel, mi 'lady?" He says with a smirk.

"I can't find any." I reply.

"Oh, uh hmm, well... you can have my jacket." He hands his jacket over to me. A dark shade of brown with worn out buttons. It fits me quite well. We do have similar body structures. Unlike his friend, Simon..."Where is Simon? By the way..."

"Uh on a trip to the great kingdom-Acies!"He makes a grand gesture with his arms waving around like a kid. After a few more hallways we finally get to Turner's Office. He stops suddenly and smiles.

"What I am about to show you, could blow your socks off."The flickering lights at the basement floor compounded by the ghastly noise from outside's rain, give me chills. He quickly dives for his keys in his pockets and opens the door.
