{THIRD PERSON POV}
MARINETTE SAT IN THE CAFETERIA with Alya and Nino. To Marinette, it felt like she was third-wheeling. She watched as Alya and Nino joked and laughed together as they ate. She also watched as Chloe picked apart Adrien at another table. Chloe kept touching his face and talking to him. It was a horrible sight, but Mari couldn't look away. She couldn't stand watching Chloe bother him like that. Marinette was so focused on Chloe and Adrien that she failed to notice Mr. Damocles enter the lunchroom.
Mr. Damocles cleared his throat, and said loudly, "Ladies and gentlemen, I have an important announcement. So if you could turn your attention to me, I would really appreciate it."
Everybody turned to look at the principal. Some students were annoyed, some students were confused, and few were actually interested in what he had to say.
"As you all know, we are nearing the end of the school year, because we are currently in the month of March," he said. "Therefore, I would like to announce that we are having a prom to conclude the Freshman year."
Now this, did spark interest in most of the students. The cafeteria roared with talking, obviously about the prom they were just informed about.
"Quiet down, now. It will be in two weeks, to give all students enough time for selecting their outfits. I want all do you to do your best in dressing to fit the occasion. Thank you." and to that, Mr. Damocles left the room.
"Oh my gosh! Marinette, did you hear that?" Alya exclaimed, hugging Nino as he blushed.
Marinette, startled because she was now put out of her focus on Chloe, said "What?".
"Marinette! We're having a prom! Isn't it amazing? We'll get to wear beautiful dresses, do our hair, and- oh! Mariii.. maybe you'll get to go with Adriennn!" Alya smirked.
"Yes! I'll get to make my dress, and have a fun time with you guys and- what? Adrien?" Marinette blushed.
"Yess girl!! You HAVE to ask him out! Be an independent woman, I know you can do it!" Alya said, very happily and encouraging.
"Alya.. what if I trip up on my words? There's no doubt that it'll make Adrien say no!! Oh noo, this is a disaster! What if Adrien doesn't like me? Maybe I shouldn't ask him after all.. he probably wants Kagami!"
"Marinette! Calm down! Kagami doesn't even go to this school! He'll definitely want you! What did you think, he'd want to go with Lila?" Alya said sassily.
"You're right! I have to give it a chance!" Marinette said with newfound confidence.
{ADRIEN}
"Uhm, Chloe, can you please back up a bit? You're kind of invading my personal space" I said to Chloe. She keeps touching my face and hair.
"Oh, I'm sorry Adri-kins! You're so irresistible!"
