Amara's P.O.V

A Few Days Later...

The Rebel's Household

It's been days since I left my dad's house and when I tell you it feels so good, believe it because this has been the best ten days of my life so far and it is yet to get better. Everyone has been so nice to me, they gave me a tour in the past few days that I've been here, they let me join whenever it's time to eat, taught me a few things that I always wanted to know about the outside and stuff like that, I even got to swim in a pool for the first time!

Still, at this point, I haven't explained to them why I ran away from home. I basically made up a lie saying my cat had run off into the distance so I follow it and ended up by the bench...I don't even have a cat and I know its not the best lie but fortunately, they fell for it. The only person that is suspicious of me is Jimmy, who is staring at me right now as I sit on the couch watching an animation-name Rick & Morty. Never in my life have I ever watch Tv...yup. My dad used to lay on the couch with the remote in his hand, watching whatever interests him and whenever I want to at least watch Tv, he gets all angry and aggressive towards me.

I've been so distracted by my thoughts, I didn't hear Jimmy calling out to me. "Amara", he dragged. I hum, "I'm sorry...what were you saying?"

"Nevermind, you were in a different world so I'm not gonna repeat myself" he said sarcastically probably knowing what I'm gonna say next. I pouted, although only knowing me for a few days, it seems like he can read me like a book.

"Oh come on, You can't do that!"I pleaded

He smirked playfully, "Oh yes I can" he then laughed like a witch, throwing his head back.

Amused, I cracked a smile, now realizing that this was the only humour I've ever encountered and hearing it come out of someone's mouth is also surprising.

"So how has the past few days living in the Rebel's house been treating you so far Amara?" he questioned curiously.

"Life has been treating me good Jimmy thanks for asking". I replied rolling my eyes "No but real talk, I've never had this amount of fun in my life, I'm still quite shocked that you guys took me in so easily though...how come?" I wondered out loud.

He stood on both his feet, shaking his body as if to get rid of his tiredness, it's still early in the morning which is why no one is awake as yet. We are the only ones awake right now for two reasons, one...I couldn't sleep because of small nightmares appearing every night now even on the most softest bed I've ever slept on...it just wasn't enough to be really comfortable and two...Jimmy usually wakes up around this time to do his daily exercise.

"Well we are not the people that you expected first and foremost, especially me, I'm the most loving and caring person anyone has ever met and so far no complaints" he gushed boldly.

"Secondly, my friend Mike has also been in a similar situation that you're in but we are always cautious with whom we bring into our house, observation is the key and one thing about my family is that were known for being very observant, on point, committed and maybe a little bit of a know it all but at the end its all love so I'm honestly glad I met someone like you" he finished off smiling at me with his pearly whites.

Wow I guess its official, I've never met anyone so confident about any nice thing they've said in my life. Smiling sadly, I couldnt help but to stand and take steps towards him slowly until I stood in front of him with tears threatening to make way down my cheeks  and wrap my arms around him tightly but not too tight to squeeze him.
