Chapter 19

It's been two days since Caiden left the country. Two days of being at his place in his absence.

Surprisingly, it was not the mansion he took me before. It was a penthouse fit for a bachelor, fit for him. The interior was so exquisite that I stood gaping with my mouth open for a good five minutes until Cam had to close my mouth teasing me that I would catch a fly.

There were a few staffs when we came. His chef and the housekeeper lived right below the penthouse so that they could come up whenever Caiden needed them. The rest of the staffs were the cleaning crew who came twice a week, unfortunately, I will meet them today.

I have been so bored out of my mind. I've done nothing but roam around the house and explore because apparently, I have to stay home till he comes back. That means I have to work from home.

But the strange thing is I don't have any work to do. I think it has something to do with my dear boyfriend.

I am going to strangle him when he comes back. I thought.

I heard my phone ping. It was a text message from Caiden. Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.

Cade: Hi

Me: Hey, wat's up? :D

Cade: I juz got out of a meeting. It was boring. Wish u were here with me :'(

Me: Suck it up, big boy. I didn't ask u to leave though. U left on ur own. So don't complain. And yeah, I am bored too :(

Cade: So U miss me? Come on admit it.

Me: I never said dat.

Cade: But u said u were bored.

Me: Yeah, I did. Imagine my surprise when ur stupid guards told me not 2 go 2 the office. I wanted 2 strangle u. Top of that, my boss doesn't have any work 4 me. Spill it, its ur doing. Isn't it? :(

Cade: I may have given some instructions. But it is for ur safety.

Me: I don't get it. Y do I have 2 have so many guards? I don't have any enemies. 

Cade: Dats ryt. U don't!

Me: Does dat mean u have? Oh no!!!!! Don't tell me dat u r involved in a gang :(

Cade: maybe ;)

Me: Don't joke abt it

Me: Helloooooo

Me: U der?????

Me: Don't leave me hanging

Me: You know what, don't talk 2 me

I waited for him to reply. It's been 15 minutes since I sent that message and he hasn't replied yet. I was starting to worry. Was he really serious about this? I mean, could he be in a gang. Maybe that's why all were scared of him. I mean that's the only logical expression why everyone feared him. But how come I didn't know him until a few days back.

I remember when I told Abby about him. She asked me his name and hearing which she went all stoic. All she asked was do I like him and whether I trust him and I said yes to which she replied was for me to be careful. I didn't understand what she meant. Does she know him? I need to talk to her.

I got up from the couch and walked to the guest room I was staying in. He told me to occupy his room, but I was not comfortable. I quickly hopped into the shower. Took a quick shower and left the bathroom with a towel. I walked into the walk-in closet, where there was numerous dress, surprisingly every single one of them happens to be my size. Damn sure it was his idea.

I pulled out a tank top and dark blue jeans to match it. I pulled out my sneakers from under my bed and wore them quickly. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and walked out of the room.

I soon reached the foyer, I scribbled a note stating that I'm going out to meet my friend so that Cam doesn't go around searching for my whereabouts.

I walk towards the parking pondering about everything that happened in my life in the past few days. I went from being a normal girl to being the girlfriend of one of the most powerful man in the country, who might be in a gang and I have no idea of how to find out and what I'd do once I do.

Will I stay or will I leave him? And would he let me? From the way, he held onto me and the words spoken by him, I think I am going to have a hard time getting away from if ever the situation arises.
