Taeyong was sitting at home, drinking tea and scrolling through his phone. Jaehyun didn't return home with him, saying he needed to visit Yeri. It had already been two hours since their work day ended.
The door opened and Jaehyun came in with a disappointed expression.
- You're already back? What the hell?
- I screwed up.- was the only thing Jaehyun said before going to the bathroom to wash his hands and face.
He came back to the living room where Taeyong was sitting and sat on the couch with crossed arms. Taeyong chuckled at the older's expression asking what happened during the date.
- Let me tell you what happened. I went to her apartment, knocked on the door and she opened it, wearing a beautiful dress. I didn't know why she was dressed like that. I entered the house and saw a beautifully set table with candles and flowers and stuff. She also cooked dinner, although her cooking skills are...not good. I thought she was just throwing a surprise romantic date or something. And she was smiling creepily at me. We sat down and started eating. She was silent for the whole time and her smile was slowly fading away. The only thing she said to me while eating was "Do you remember what day it is today?"
- Oh no.
- Oh yes. Long story short it was our 5 years anniversary and I fucking forgot about that.
Taeyong looked at Jaehyun with a worried look waiting for the rest of the story.
- I thought it couldn't be worse than that but that's when I was wrong. As I told you, Yeri is a terrible cook. And I ate what she made... And right after she told me it was our anniversary, I felt weird...in my stomach and ran to the toilet. And...freed my stomach there. I was sitting there for almost half an hour. When I came out of the toilet I saw Yeri crying. I went closer to her to hug and say how sorry I am and all that but I was attacked by her four friends, who work with her in "Red Velvet". Joy pushed me back saying to stay away from their friend. Irene called me a jerk and Wendy threatened to kill me if I come near Yeri, who was still quietely crying. They told me to leave and Yeri nodded so I thought I'd better leave. When I was about to close the door after me, Seulgi...
- I know her. We had dance performances together in the bar. She's very nice.
- She is. She told me that on top of all the shit I did (literally), Yeri was on her period, that's why she was so sad and vulnerable.
- So let me get this straight. You forgot your anniversary with your girlfriend of five years, who was also on her period, shit in her toilet and got kicked out by her friends?
Jaehyun nodded.
- Well, you deserved it.
- Are you going to kick me out, too?
- No,- Taeyong chuckled at his roommate and tapped his own lap,- come here.
Jaehyun layed his head on Taeyong's lap and the older started playing with his hair.
- Do you think I fucked up?
- I do.
- Crap!- Jaehyun went silent for a while, then asked,- do you ever hate yourself?
- Two times a day, before breakfast and dinner,- Taeyong joked,- but if being serious, then yes, I do. Very often. But you shouldn't hate yourself, because you forgot your anniversary. Sure, that's very dumb and I can understand why she got so upset but don't hate yourself because of such a small mistake.
- It's not only forgetting anniversaries. Sometimes I feel, no, I know, that I'm not a good boyfriend. I don't give her as much attention, as I should, I don't give her presents without an occasion. I don't do anything romantic. Sure, I was the one to ask her out but since then our relationship was relying only on her. Do you think I don't deserve her?
