CHAPTER 8: Daehwi's father

While the two was busy arguing over the line distribution and who will sing what upstairs for almost an hour now, Mrs. Lee cook some dinner at the kitchen. Soon Mr. Lee arrived back home and as he was removing his shoes he saw a unfamiliar one beside his son's making him furrow his eyebrows having his own thoughts on his mind. Without any hesitation he entered the house with heavy steps before throwing his bag at the sofa as he lossen his tie startling the lady at the kitchen.

"Oh your home already-"

The lady said as she approach her husband after turning off the stove but her words got cut off with a shout, "Lee Daehwi! Come down this instant!" He yelled which makes Mrs. Lee's eyes go wide, his misunderstanding things again the lady thought

Meanwhile the two upstairs, stop talking before making an eye contact, the two knew very well who owns that voice and when that person demands something they must really prove it.

Daehwi with a frustrated sigh stood up and went out of the room before going downstairs, and when he did he met eyes with his angry father.

"Who's shoes are the one beside yours!? Who told you, you can bring any girl inside my house, huh!!? Are you really trying to disobey me!?" He yelled making the boy's jaw drop as Mrs. Lee face palm getting embarrassed to what the man was yelling

"Will you stop" The lady said making her husband glare at her

"What do you mean stop, look at this boy bringing girls in the house, and you have the guts to be okay with this!" He continued yelling blood pressure rising up, and Daehwi swear this man needs to stop being paranoid and shut up.

Meanwhile Yeon who can hear all the shouting got so worried making her decide that she needs to go out. And with that she also stood up before going out of the room, she haven't gone down the stairs yet but she already grab the three's attention.

"Is this the girl!? How dare you!" Mr. Lee said as he point his fingers at Yeon, Mrs. Lee was so embarrass because of what's happening so she decided that there's only one way to make the man shut up, with that she smack her husband's head making the man whine and groan in pain

"How can you forget who she is!? That's Yeon, you idiot!" She said making the man look at her surprised then to Yeon who was still up the stairs

"Oh it's Yeon?" He said as if nothing happened making Daehwi face palm and Mrs. Lee hit him again

"That's what we've been trying to tell you but you need to over react and shout!" She said nagging her husband

"Now you've scared Yeon!" She added and as she was about to nag more because of his stupidity Yeon decided to assure them that it's fine

"No, no i'm all good it's fine don't worry Mrs. Lee" she said as she go down the stairs

And it's not like it's the first time she'll be hearing this, three years ago was a lot worse than today. Good thing a lot changed on Mr. Lee through those years, well maybe not his over reacting habit but at lease the bad ones are gone

"You see it's fine" Mr. Lee said and his wife can only frown

"This is why you should ask properly first before shouting" Daehwi said before crossing his arms

"You two are siding against me again are you" he said as he look at his wife and son

"Fine then I'll take Yeon on my side, Idiots" he jokes but Mrs. Lee isn't having any of it, instead she grab her slippers from her foot before chasing after her husband leaving the two laughing

"Guess a lot did change with your father" Yeon said and Daehwi nod too immersed at the moment but soon he realized things and went back to having that frown on his face

"Why do you even care" he said before leaving the girl standing there alone and Yeon can only watch the boy head to the kitchen.

After the commotion, the family decided to have some dinner and of course with Yeon. Like what Daehwi did up stairs he tries to reason at why the girl can't eat with them but his parents didn't bought it which lead them to this moment.

"How are you after three years Yeon?" Mr. Lee said after he drink his water

"Still doing fine uncle, nothing new" she replied making Daehwi's parents nod

"How I miss having dinner with you Yeon, back then when you and Daehwi are still in 7th Grade you're always here as if it's your own home, then you guys will play around as if you guys are kids when I reality you are teenagers already, what happened why did you stop going here?" She said a little sad but happy at the same time that she can finally see Yeon

"Ahh that" the girl said really nervous, she thought this question was over but she guess wrong

"I just got really busy, you know" She said making Mr. Lee look at her surprised

"For three years!" He said and this time Daehwi knew he had to step in

"Dad stop asking and eat" he said and the Man frowned

"Why are you so salty today" hid father said and Mrs. Lee agreed

"Jeez teenagers" he added as if he didn't went through that stage of life

After they had dinner Yeon went back to Daehwi's room to grab her bag but of course the latter went with her because he said that Yeon 'might steal something' from me. After that the two of them went back down. It was already pretty dark so Mrs. Lee insisted that Daehwi should send her home but she decline with a 'i can manage auntie don't worry' because she saw the boy glaring at her, so with that she went home by herself.
