No blood, no clothes scraps, no hair - not from Varian or his pet - and no trace at all that the boy or Ruddiger was ever there.
He was pronounced dead, though they didn't have confirming evidence, they figured he must have died, since he couldn't have gone far. Somebody or something must have moved the body after the kid's death.
Nobody was happy, nor satisfied, with the results, but it was the best they could give. They'd killed a kid. All of them had to live with that guilt now.
Especially the Princess.
She killed him after all,
