CHAPTER 四

a king is revealed

Saturday soon arrived, causing excitement to fill Toshi's body. Even though he wasn't able to take part in the practice match, Toshi knew that he should show the new club members some support. Especially after helping the Hinata during the first year's secret practice.

After getting changed into a plain black shirt which was tucked into a pair of black high waisted skinny jeans with a chain attached to them, along with his volleyball jacket, Toshi decided to go downstairs to quickly pack a snack for later on.

As he grabbed a container to use for his daily cream puff intake, Toshi's step-mother, Kanna, ended up walking into the kitchen. Upon seeing her step-son, she immediately ruffled his hair causing Toshi to pout as he worked on getting his hair clips back in place.

"You should eat a proper breakfast you know." Kanna states.

"I'll grab something on the way to school." Toshi replies.

Toshi didn't end up grabbing something on the way to school (something that Osamu would not be happy with). Not that the male minded since he did have his cream puffs with him after all and this time they were strawberry ones. As per his usual routine, Toshi stopped at the vending machine to get some strawberry milk before walking towards the gym.

On Toshi's journey to the gym, both Kageyama and Hinata ran past him causing the rest of his strawberry milk to fall onto the floor. Toshi quickly got rid of the ruined drink and immediately ran after the two first years whilst shouting curses at the pair. This only caused them to speed up upon realising that they were being chased by a furious second year.

"What's the point of getting worn out before the match?" Tanaka says as he takes hold of Toshi, prompting him to change his shoes before entering the gym, "You'd better rest up."

"You'll pay for destroying my strawberry milk!" Toshi exclaims whilst being dragged into the gym.

"All right. Let's get started." Daichi exclaimed, causing everyone to stop stretching, "I'll be on Tsukishima's team."

"What? You, Captain?" Hinata asked in shock.

"Don't worry. Tanaka's a better attacker than me. Though I won't go easy on you either."

"Um.. That little one and Tanaka-san, which one shall I crush- I mean- block first?" Tsukishima said with a snarky tone, "Oh, yes, yes, I'd like to see the King lose too."

Toshi watches from the sidelines. Hoping that Kageyama, Hinata and Tanaka wouldn't lose their cool. After all, Tsukishima was only riling them up so they would mess up during the match.

"Our special feature is the King. Who's been abandoned by his underlings." Tsukishima continues making Kageyama jolt slightly.

"Hey, hey. Did you hear that?" Tanaka approaches the two first years on his team, "My, the things he says. Oh, that Tsukishima-kun, I'm going to really... crush him to a pulp."
