"What's going on guys?" Shravan couldn't hold himself any longer thats why he finally asked, which was bugging him since the time he arrived.
"What? Nothing is going on," Nirmala shrugged her shoulder, giving her son a smile which is totally erroneous.
"You know i am a lawyer too, right?" It is more of a statement than a question, raising his brow he gave them an apprehend look to let them know nothing is going unnoticed.
Today is sunday, which brought them all under the same roof. But shravan's gut feeling is telling him, things ain't usual. His parents didn't fight for once and on top of that they are murmuring ever so often. That's not how he usually find them and it's making him feel a bit uncanny.
Not getting anything out from them, he turned his face toward his grandmother, who in return winked at him with a smile which says DANGER!! Something is definitely up, he is damn sure now.
Feeling a little hungry he made his way to the kitchen and grabbed coke and waffers. Hunger is of two types. One when you are actually hungry, like you can eat whatever is given to you at that moment and then the other when you want just one particular item to settle those cravings and shravan is having the latter one right now.
Opening the can, he settled leisurely on sofa and started shuffling through the tv channels.
Smiling broadly, he placed the remote beside, when he found a basketball match, his favourite sport.
His whole concentration was on tv when he heard his father calling him. He raised his brows at the trio who are sitting at the dinner table which is just a little right to living room.
"Shravan come here." Ramnath said politely
"Dad tell me here only. I can't miss this." Shravan replied, his eyes never leaving the screen.
"Shravan it's important." Nirmala said standing in front of the screen to his utter dismay.
"Maa you are blocking my view. Get aside!" Shravan whinned like a child and tried to look leaning on side of the sofa. By then his father and grandmother are already seated on their spots near him.
"What do you guys want?" He asked in frustration when nirmala switched off the tv to get his full attention. He sipped his coke, rolling his eyes, when he saw the trio eyeing each other to initiate the conversation.
"Speak up now!" He really want to know what is up their sleeves.
"We found a girl." Nirmala told him smilingly
"I didn't know i am getting a sister. Dad?" he joked
"Shravan stop!" his dad said giving him a not-so-funny look.
"We want you to get married." She said coming on point.
"You guys are so funny!" Shravan laughed but the laughter died down soon when he noticed the seriousness on their faces.
"You can't be serious." He looked at them bewildered
"I am too young for this dadi." He shook his head saying no.
"You are 27 and it's the right age to settle and be a family man." She said
'I am not gonna marry any random girl and i am not ready for this." He stated and without waiting for them to say any further, he went upstairs to his room.
The room where he has spent his childhood. His car is still hanging there on the wall and his books are peeking at him through the shelf. Everything is same, the only thing new and changed there is him. The nerdy boy turned into a hot shot lawyer. The one who fright to even talk now gives speech in the courtroom among so many. He knows he has changed, all for good atleast that's what he thinks.
