"you promised you'd drop it."
the words came out of her mouth so easily as if she didn't just pressure him to give up what he loved doing the most.
her reason being that it wouldn't meet the standard and quality of her potential life partner.
"i did, but i just really miss playing."
"jae. i told you to choose."
he usually never paused to think and he didn't this time either. he just wanted to please her with the right answer.
"you. of course it's you." he slid closer to hug her. "stay for the night, please?"
as if he knew it was coming, he pulled back right in time as she pushed him off. "you know i can't."
he really didn't want her to leave. he was slowly losing his mind and the thought of being by himself gave him anxiety.
but then again he wasn't really alone.
he glanced over at the mirror but quickly looked away.
"ok." he didn't argue. "lock the door on your way out." he curled up in bed and hugged his pillow tight.
it hurt him that she didn't even hesitate, she just walked out. the least she could've done was turn off the lights.
he sighed and let his eyes bounce around.
then they landed on his guitar.
he really wanted to pick it up and play but he knew he shouldn't. he could only love one person. her.
he shut his eyes tight and let the demon of silence sing him a lullaby.
