Brand New Animal: Carter Ryan Beastman savior...and Beastman?

Chapter 4: Anima City

Carter Ryan stares in awe at Anima City having never seen it up close before but across the ocean hoping that one day he could go and visit to see the Beastmen he saved from persecution, but it was circumstances that brought him here after being turned into a beastman from that Beastman hunter. Carter Ryan and Marie Itami get off of the boat at Anima City dock where Marie begins to explain how life in the city works.

Marie Itami: Carter I need you to listen up, this city isn't going to be a walk in the park and really won't open its arms to you. You will probably go through what Michiru did...that being said make sure that you cannot be pick pocketed, newcomers are often taken advantage of if they do not know what they're doing.

Carter Ryan: Alright well my wallet is secure, wait was this friend of yours Michiru robbed when she first got here?

Marie Itami: Yep wallet was robbed and all of her identification, she got it all back eventually but boy was it a adventure for her to get it back.

Carter Ryan: care to elaborate on this adventure?

Marie Itami: Nope.

After 30-40 minutes of walking Carter was noticing that Beastmen were all in there human forms and giving him dirty looks, Carter noticing that he was the only one in Beastman form deduced that it was because he was in beast form but because of his uncertainty he asked Marie Itami about it.

Carter Ryan: Hey Marie I have noticed that no one is in their beast form and that I am the only one in beast form and I can deduce that I am in the wrong somehow can you explain to me what might be wrong.

Marie Itami: Wow you catch on quick unlike Michiru Kagemori, well Carter no one is in their beast forms is because when someone is in beast form it is seen as a means of wanting to start a fight and like Michiru I can guess you cannot shift back in which case she will have to teach you to revert back.

Carter: I  guess with that information I will keep my head down and try not make eye contact in order not to offend or start something accidental.

After a few more minutes of walking Carter and Marie made it to their destination the Beastmen Life Association building. Marie explained that this was where they parted ways, Marie told them that they should help you out and if you needed anything you still had her number.

Meanwhile inside the Beastmen Life Association:

Michiru Kagemori: Good morning Shiro, Mr and Mrs Horner.

Jen Horner: Morning Michiru

Melissa Horner: Good morning dear breakfast is almost ready.

Shiro Ogami: Morning Michiru sleep well?

Michiru Kagemori:  Any news about that female Beastman that came in last night whilst i was out?

Jen Horner: Oh yes the one that Marie Itami brought in last night after both of them where saved by the Shadow Wolf, well she has got all of her documentation and has been reunited with her family she was so thankful to the Shadow Wolf for saving her life but she worries that he might be hurt understandably  after she last left him at the docks of the mainland.

Michiru Kagemori: Wow that is the 30th Beastman this month that the Shadow Wolf has saved, did you hear that Shiro you might have some competition.

Shiro looked at Michiru with a shocked and concerned look as she forgot that only she and Mayor are supposed to know that Shiro is the Silver Wolf. Michiru realizing her mistake as if if on queue she said "of course you only do what you think is right when it comes to your morals of protecting Beastmen not that you have the same abilities of a God or any thing heh". Shiro sighed with relief that his cover was blown, Shiro then paused and then transformed and started smelling the air.

Michiru Kagemori: Shiro whats wrong?  You only start to smell if your trying to sense something or something is wrong.

Shiro Ogami: I can sense a human nearby and he is blood on his clothes.

Michiru Kagemori: Another human in Anima City? With blood stained clothes is it hurt are we in danger?

Shiro Ogami: I don't know but I'm going to check it out.

Back outside of the Beastmen Life Association building:

Carter Ryan: well here goes nothing

Carter enters the reception of the building to notice that the lobby is empty, he goes up to the front desk and rings the bell. Shiro was watching around a corner to his surprise to see a Wolf Beastman like him but in black, was this the first time Shiro's sense of smell was wrong? He does to take another smell again. Carter waiting for someone to answer him when he could sense someone else in the room with him with his heightened sense of smell in his Wolf beastman form. Then it happend both Shiro and Carter where aware of each others presence that was when Shiro decided to step out into the open for Carter Ryan to see. Carter sees Shiro but is scared  at his presence because of Shiro's look like he is ready to fight, Carter reading the situation tries to deescalate the situation before it got out of hand.

Carter Ryan: Good morning sir is this the Beastman Life Association otherwise known as the Beastman Coop?

Shiro Ogami: Depends on who's asking, you know one shouldn't be in their beast form if they're not looking for a fight.

Carter Ryan: I know and I am sorry if you felt threatened but I cannot help it I'm stuck like this which is why I came here looking for some help as my friend Marie Itami sent me here.

Shiro Ogami: You know Marie Itami the Mink?

Carter and Shiro's  conversation was cut short when Jen and Melissa Horner followed by Michiru Kagemori came downstairs to see what was going on.

Jen Horner: Shiro what is going on and who is this fine gentle man?

Carter Ryan: Good morning sir I am Carter Ryan I am new to this city I am sorry if I had disturbed anyone but I was sent by Marie Itami I have just arrived in the city this morning I was hoping I could find some help here.

Jen Horner: Oh you're one of the Beastmen refugees saved by the Shadow Wolf, that is odd as we only get them at nighttime so your arrival must be of upmost importance if you had to escape during the day.

Carter Ryan: Well yes in a way I guess I am like one of the refugees that I help get to Anima City.

Melissa Horner: Oh do you work with Marie Itami in getting refugees to Anima City?

Carter Ryan: You could say that I work with Marie Itami. I am the one that helps them escape, you would otherwise know me as the Shadow Wolf.

Michiru Kagemori: Pft yeah right the shadow wolf is a legend just like the Silver Wolf.

Shiro Ogami: And besides we are told by Marie Itami that he is a human and you don't look like no human to me...but you do smell like one.

Carter Ryan: well may I come in and so that I can explain in further detail?

All four of them agreed and allowed Carter inside, Carter and Jen sat at an office table whilst Melissa stared to make some tea. Shiro stood standing in the corner watching Carter and Michiru excitedly sat next to Carter as she thought that Carters story would be an interesting one. One that is almost similar to hers.
