Chapter 5: Beastman Coop

Carter Ryan: Well where do I start?

Jen: Well don't be shy tell us about yourself and your line of work.

Carter Ryan: Well as you already know my name is Carter Ryan. I am 18 and I immigrated  from the United Kingdom last year. My line of work for the past few months has been helping Beastmen to escape from the mainland here to Anima City. Last night I was helping a female Beastman escape who had to abandon her family home of thirty years as she no longer felt safe living there as she feared for her life, her goal is try try and find her family who already live in Anima City.

Everyone listened and felt heartbreak as they already knew the story as the Beastman who escaped as she had told them last night, especially Shiro who Carter had noticed that he started crying silently in the corner.

Carter Ryan: So anyway I contacted Marie Itami to Meet at the docks late at night. Everything went smoothly up until those bastard hunters arrived there was five of them, four goons and a leader.

Shiro Ogami filled with anger and slammed his fist against the wall at the thought of Beastmen hunters he had all but seen what they could do and it angered him as much as it angered Carter Ryan but Carter continued with his story.

Carter Ryan: Any way the Boat was shot as as the main targets were the refugee and Marie. In order for them to escape i cover fired them and shot back, I managed to strike their leader in the leg that was when the all rushed me I shot at them but ran out of ammo. I thought that it might be the end for me but I would be damned if I wasn't going to go out without a fight. So whilst they charged me I charged them taking on all five of them. I lost the fight and they spared my life calling me a disgrace to humanity for helping Beastmen. To be honest if being human means to attack Beastmen for no apparent reason other than they're different then I do not want to be a human. Anyway the leader said that he doesn't kill humans and only beastmen, that was when he injected me with this syringe and they left. I went home battered and bruised and woke up the next morning like this, I panicked not knowing what to do knowing that I myself cannot live in the mainland looking like this without being able to hide it at least. So I packed my things contacted Marie and met her at the docks and came here and that's my story so far.

Jen and Melissa: So it is true you're the Shadow Wolf the one that all those Beastmen owe them your lives.

Shiro Ogami: I have never met a human being other than Michiru who would go beyond the call of duty to help a Beastman in need putting their own life for another and on at least 30 or so occasions that is impressive for a human being. I honestly thought that it was just another human doing it for a different purpose to just try and get rid of Beastmen without killing them but i can tell that you're being honest. Even though you are nothing like the Silver Wolf I am sure that he would be thank full.

Shiro said this knowingly as he himself is the Silver wolf but no one else knew other than the Mayor and Michiru and she knew as well that if Shiro approved of Carter that he was for sure one of the good guys. Jen asked Michiru to show Carter to the guest bedroom where she and her friend Nazuna Hiwatashi have been living for the past two months. Nazuna was out doing errands so Michiru and Carter started having a conversation just between the two of them.

Michiru Kagemori: Well this is where Nazuna and I sleep and now where you do as well, I still cannot believe that you're the Shadow Wolf mind you you're a black wolf wearing all black so the name is quite fitting.

Carter Ryan: Thank you I honestly did not know what to expect other than what Marie had told me.

Michiru Kagemori: Oh what did she tell you? and how much did she make you pay for the trip as i'm sure you know that she doesn't make trips for free.

Carter Ryan: Well for one I didn't have to pay anything since I saved her life so that was the payment, and the other that this place wasn't all rainbows and lollipops like the advertisements say and that I should keep and eye on my wallet. She told me about when you first arrived here and how you lost your wallet and that you had quite the adventure out there to get it back. And she told me that you have an apparent crush on Shiro.

Michiru Kagemori: WHAT! that lying weasel I do not have a crush on him for your information even if i did that wouldn't be your business. Yeah I will admit I didn't know what to expect either, hey you and I are kind of in the same boat we where both humans turned into Beastmen and fled to Anima City.

Carter Ryan: Well you became a Beastman by accident I became one on purpose, those hunters did this to me and they had the serum for it and I can only imagine what they're using it for I just hope that it isn't for what I think it is.

Shiro Ogami enters the room:

 Shiro Ogami: Hope that what isn't for what?

Carter Ryan: I was just telling your friend Michiru about the serum that did this to me. Unfortunately the facts that I know so far are concerning as there is a serum that has been produced that can change humans into Beastmen and on purpose unlike Michiru who accidentally became one via a blood transfusion. And what even more concerning is that It has gotten into the wrong hands that being Beastmen hunters.

Shiro listening to Carter understands this and is already on board now getting into serious business  and asks Carter "So what do you suppose that they might use something like this for?" To which Carter replies 'I can think of one of two things 1) Because I am getting more Beastmen out of the Mainland and into Anima City means that it is getting harder for hunters to hunt Beastmen. Since as there is less and less each time I save one and that they have the serum to purposely turn more humans into Beastmen to hunt them. 2) They might try to reverse engineer the serum to do the opposite and turn Beastmen to Humans and by the look on your face both are concerning and I feel the same way".

Shiro Ogami: Well then this is dangerously serious  and I must take you to the mayor immediately, Michiru your coming too.

Michiru Kagemori: Right I can fly both of you there to cut time.

Carter Ryan: Wait how can Tanuki's fly?

Shiro Ogami: Unlike regular Beastmen Michiru has special abilities unlike other Beastmen to which she can transform freely to whatever she feels like her other friend Nazuna and if I had to guess you might be able to too with training.

With That Michiru's arms transformed ton massive wings and Shiro and Carter hopped onto her back and they flew to the Mayors office to inform the Mayor of the dire situation at hand.
