As we go through life

All is fair in love and war (part 1)

We finally arrived and I quickly look for Adien the moment I step out of the boat.

"Where is he ?" I ask familiar guards but they just shrug their shoulders

"He is by the camp that is being set up" a random warrior responds and I nod thanking him

I begin to walk his direction and fast, my anxiety was taking over. 

"Should I even tell him? "I myself am not sure"
"It could be a false alarm"  and like always I am cut off from my own thoughts

"You seem like your in a hurry" that voice sends my heart in an even more unsettling feeling

I turn giving the fakest smile I can do

"And you seem like your not, for someone who really should be ivar"

Ivar let's out a chuckle "ahh always so observant, good too know that has not changed"

I roll my eyes

"There is nothing els to do but watch us win back what is already ours" ivar states boldly and certain of his claim

"How are you so sure we will win" I ask

"Everything that can go right and everything that can go wrong I have already thought about. Besides I have one of the greatest armys in the worlds"

I cut in making ivar stare

"We" and ivar smirks "your army wouldn't be so great without the help of my husband and I"

Ivars looks amused and seems to think to himself

"the beloved warrior queen" he grins and let's out a sigh

My face gets more serious, I know he's planning something or is waiting for a moment to say something to annoy me or get a reaction

"I have to say I'm impressed" ivar says and it felt different.  "Was he serious" I think to myself. As I stare at him still glaring

Ivar breaks his stare and begins to walk away

"Congratulations by the way" I say as he walks passed me and I keep staring forward.

Ivar stops and awkwardly coughs as if he was taken back by what I had just said.

he knew I was talking about freydis.

He turns to me and I can tell he wants answers of how I know but I keep walking not turning back knowing he didn't take his eyes off me the whole time.

I make my way to the campsite where Adien was sitting in the main tent going over position of warriors. He was so caught up in it that he hadn't noticed it was me that had walked in.

I walk closer getting close enough to kiss him on the cheek and his eyes shoot up to meet mine

"How's my queen" adien smiles giving me a kiss on the lips

"Your queen wants a word with her king" I say as I look around the room that was filled with servants and other warriors

"You heard her" adien raises his voice and everyone leaves.

"Is everything okay" adien stands waiting for my response

"Yess but Adien I think I'm .."

"Adien!" We hear a voice calling from outside the tent and Uhtred then runs inside.

"We have to get in position now. The English army is marching towards us and fast"

Adien nods and begins to walk out taking me by the hand "tell me when this is all over, for now We have a war to win"

Right then and there I decided not to say anything as I nod okay , I wasn't sure I was pregnant anyways and I couldn't bring up more issues than we already had.

Everyone quickly got to their positions. I was to stay back with Adien, ivar. Hvisterk and the other Earls and we watched from a distance the battle beginning to unfold.

The English army is seen walking up the hill. It seemed like hundreds of men but the only person to catch my eye was their new king.

"Alfred" I say out loud and Adien and hvisterk turn my way confused

"You know him?" Adien responds looking confused

Ivar and I lock eyes to see if we noticed who the new king was and turn to glare at him who was now riding forward in full armor and a white horse with about 6 guards.

Alfred gets close enough for us to hear him as he screamed "ivar" "Samara" "I wish to make a bargain!" 

Ivar and I both look at each other waiting for the other to make the first move.
I make the decision to step forward but adien grabs my arm holding me back. Ivar takes notice and rolls his eyes walking forward

"Let me go I am not a child I can handle myself" I say as I get out of adiens grip and he stares at me angered

"How times have changed" Alfred says as we step closer

"Kattegats new king" he smiles at ivar Then turns to me "and Norway's killer queen...........

"Theres no time for games This time Alfred" I say and Alfred looks amused

"I almost forgot how outspoken you are Samara.... a true heathen" Alfred steps off his horse now face to face with me and ivar

"I do not wish to go to war, innocent lives will be lost for a cause of old men... you got your revenge for Ragnar......" Alfred speaks but realize we don't care for what he's saying

"I am willing to pay for your exit gold and silver."

"We do not care for it" I speak and ivar is lost in thought

"Always so easy to speak what's inside your mind Samara.... consider the consequences" Alfred speaks and we stand in silence

"This is a war you simply cannot win, and I do not wish to kill neither your men or mine. If you agree to a peace between England and Viking that is what will go down in history that Alfred sought out peace and a treaty was made here today"

Alfred takes out silence for us thinking what she would do next. Ivar has not said a word but listen

"If in the next hour we do not retreat get ready for war" ivar says and turns to go back to his position

Alfred glares at him "very well" and gets back on his horse

As we walk back I whisper to ivar "what was that, you don't ever just leave bargains like that. What no threats to make ?"

Ivar stops walking and I do the same "he has something up his sleeve, he wouldn't threaten without having something to back him up"

"Ivar we have the greatest army they couldn't unless they..... have an .... alliance" I realize what ivars thought was

"They wouldn't, but how"

"Largetha and my brothers are here" ivar says to confirm my thoughts

"Fuck" I think to myself
