"You're grounded!" My mother shouted as I sat on my bed. The day before I was told to clean my room. Of course, I didn't clean it per se. My mother had found everything that was on the floor, under my bed.

"But mom I can't miss Lilly's party! I promised her I would be there!"

"No buts Mr. I told you what would happen if you did not clean your room this time." With that my mother left me alone in my room.

"Lilly's going to be really disappointed" i muttered to myself. I had a really messed up this time. I hope she wouldn't be too upset with me.

"So? Where is he" I asked my mother after she got off the phone.

"his father said that he got sick, so we wouldn't be able to come today. I know you were really excited to see him, I'm sorry he wasn't able to make it."

"that's okay Mom" I said smiling before she walked away. As soon as she was out of sight the smile turned into a frown. I had really been looking forward ticketing to hang with my best friend. I mean of course the others were my friends too, but he was a close friend.

First the puppets were out of order so I wouldn't be able to see Golden Marionette, and now my best friend can't come.

"Hey brat" called a familiar voice. " mom says it's time for cake."

I let out a sigh. "I'm coming" I called out, as a ran over to the table. At least I was still getting cake.

It has been weeks and I hadn't heard from Lilly. Every time I asked my parents about her, they started acting really weird. They would change the subject or just would refuse to talk about it.

Finally oh, they decided to tell me what it happened.

"We didn't realize this but her birthday party was also a moving away party." My mother said

"We felt kind of bad and we didn't know how to tell you." Said my father.

Even though that's what they told me, something didn't feel right about it. Why didn't she tell me they were moving away? We were friends after all.

Either way, no matter what, one day I would get to see her again. I would get to be an adult, and then I could go out and find her. Maybe then we could be friends again.

She was my only friend... and I lost her.

Maybe if I was there I could have said goodbye.
