Chapter 2:

I walked into the gates of 'Ophelia Vale High School' A typical high school.

I managed to get to school by 8:45, and began to hurry to my locker to collect one of my books at the west side then hurry off to first lesson ugh Chemistry which was at the east of the school. I walked through the doors and waited a minute for at least one of friend Irma or Talia or Abbey who I usually walk to lessons with. I sipped my coffee impatiently and texted the three of them 'Where are you?' and inserted the desperate/impatient emoji like 100 times. I got a reply from Irma who said she was just 'around the corner'.

I looked out the grand glass doors and there dashed in a very lively Irma. Today, she was wearing a blue and red floral tunic-style dress with white pattern leggings and jewelled pumps. Her hair was long and flowy, in loose beachy waves with the majority of her bangs pinned back except for a few strands that were left loose. She ran over to me and gave me a squeeze. She also did top winged eyeliner, but hers turned out absolutely perfecto! Like always! It perfectly suited her almond shape eyes. The bronze Smokey eye look really brought out the green in her eyes. She could read, from the expressions upon my face that I was clearly not in the best of moods and said 'What's up? Did something happen?' I just told her that I was running late so a bit tired because I didn't sleep much last night. We started to walk side by side to our lockers among the usual crowd of a Wednesday Morning. Walking past everyone, the jocks, the popular show offs, the cheerleaders, the nerds, the football players, then him. Him, I am referring to Jason .... One of the smartest and sportiest guys in our grade. I wouldn't say I'm 'head over heels for him', but he seems really nice, as what I gather from my friend Jessica who just so happens to be his sister.

Okay! This is where it gets complicated! So let me start over. It all started a few years ago, when I was about 12 and Jess was like I don't know 10? We met at an after-school club and started chatting and realised we have soo much in common, from our sarcastic jokes to our very specific music tastes. We used to get in trouble for talking 'too much' but honestly it didn't matter because we had the most laughs ever! Everyone used to think we were nuts but honestly we didn't care didn't care! We are still really good friends for over 4 years now. She would often talk about her brother who was the same age as me; he often spent his weekends playing sports mostly football with his team at the club and how he often would ask her about me. Not anything big, but just those small little things but still! Even as I'm telling you this, I feel my face transitioning to blushing. So there is where that tiny crush came from. Then she told me that we were going to the same high school. I was thrilled, we could finally, at least say 'Hi' to each other. But sadly, we weren't in any of the same lessons and I go bright tomato red whenever he walks by. I guess one good thing came out us being in different lessons; I don't flush ruby red in lessons all the time making it the most obvious thing ever.
