Day 2

I never thought that I would be kissed by someone so gorgeous, let alone be flirted with!

Last night was just exceptional, my world filled with fantasy.

Stefan made it so much better, he was perfect.

He made everything feel so perfect.

Aghhhhh time to wake up.

People say that the first thought and/or word out of your mouth will set the tone of that whole day for you.

I said a word that will definitely set the tone for a crappy day, if you know what I mean.

I woke up, and realized that I had to sing at church with Brennen, and it would be one of the last times we would ever see each other, since he was moving to Brazil.

Alice, the one who was going to announce us, though, was the one whom I was worried about.

She was always looking for ways to humiliate me, and she did, alright.

Whatever.

After today, I won't see her for a pretty long time, so who cares?

He didn't come.

Great.

I stood up from sitting at the edge of my bed, took a shower, and then changed.

After letting my hair air dry, I put on a beautiful turquoise high-low dress with beads surrounding the torso.

I slipped on my Jeffrey Campbell black leather ankle boots, some recycled glass bracelets and a tiny, diamond encrusted infinity sign necklace to finish the look.

When all was well, I had my cousin Angelica pick me up.

My parents had business meetings, they were always too busy for me.

The only time they paid attention was when I did something wrong, which was almost never.

Then the usual routine would have them saying, "We're very concerned about you. Do you want us to take you to a psychiatrist? Or would a psychologist be better for you? There is something seriously wrong with your brain. Are you even our daughter?"

Thinking about that, I was interrupted by Angelica turning the soft music of the radio off.

We entered, and soon enough, it was time to sing.

Alice announced Brennen with fantastic expression, but when she got to my name, she spoke in monotone and did the death glare, followed by a horrendously fake smile to the audience.

We sang, and the announcer at our church always tells us when to get off and where to go when we're done.

We had already finished the song, and the final song that the congregation had to sing was playing, but Alice didn't tell us to go or anything.

So I said, Brennen, follow me on the count of three and we'll walk out of here together.

Brennen agreed.

I guess Alice had heard our plan, and so she said, "Amber, go now!"

So I walked out with so much confidence, expecting Brennen behind me.

When I reached the other side of the doors, I turned around to talk to Brennen, but he wasn't there.

Brennen came when the song was over.

"Brennen why didn't you walk with me?"

"Abby, I was right behind you, but Alice stopped me!"

Great.
