Brittany's POV

I wasn't going to the party. Because my family's business was going down, we didn't have enough to pay 100$ per guest for the party; and we invited 50. It was simply too expensive. One of the main reasons I wanted to go was because John knew I wasn't going, and he got sad; I was gonna surprise him!

It turns out I only had to pay the hundred dollars if I ate! So I didn't.

My friend Michaela's parents took me; and as soon as I arrived, I looked and looked all around for John, but he was no where to be seen.

After half an hour of searching for him, I finally gave up.. But I also noticed that someone else was missing; Amber.

I'm one of her best friends, but I hate her. I don't know, it's not that she has things that I don't, because I have everything. In fact, my family has more money than hers; not right now, but we will soon, just as our business successes again.

I was at the far end of the lawn, sitting alone. A couple of yards away, I spotted the moonlight glistening off of something.. It looked like a beach to me. There was a path to it, and just as I walked on it, I saw John, and another stickly figure running around and throwing each other into the water.

After a minute or two, they lied down on the sand with their hands behind their head looking at the stars.

"That should be me!" I angrily mumbled to myself, as I sat down in disgust.

Wait, why was I thinking this way? I'm his girlfriend, he loves ME. They're just best friends - unfortunately.

Oh, that's right..

I'm the one who causes their little love fest to stop.

It was on the class trip, and she had liked him since he came to this school in 7th grade.. It turns out he liked her too, but nothing happened. He had started to like her on the trip again, and things were going great.

That night I found out she liked him, it took all of me to act as natural as possible.

The next day, I just had to intervene. I gathered all of the information of what she has said and thought about him, and while we were ice skating I pulled him away, and told him everything.

He said nothing, and skated away, while I had an evil smirk on my face.

Yes, it was wrong.

Yes, she is my best friend.

Yes, she is taking everything away from me.

Whatever.

After that, he started getting creeped out by the untrue things I had told him, and he started to hang around me.

Eventually, he asked me out.

She was broken; never has anything brought me more joy than tears on her eyes.

Yes, I'm twisted.

Yes, I betrayed her.

Yes, I stole her man.

Get over it, you deserve it.

After I saw them on the beach, I just couldn't take it anymore.

I whipped out my gold IPhone 5S, the color that she hated on the phone because she thought it looked ghetto, and hailed a cab.

I'm done.
