Lyra Malfoy sat by the windowsill, her knees drawn up to her chest as she rests her chin on her knees. Watching the starry sky as she thought of her father.

It had been exactly 2 years since he had died from cancer. It had been painful to watch him suffer for months and her mother doing her best not to break down at the sight of her husband so frail and thin. It broke her heart, wishing that her parents shouldn't have suffered so much in their lives after everything they've been through. It wasn't easy to admit their past to their children. Mostly because her father didn't want his children to think of him evil after knowing what he had done to his mother and her friends and family and to so many people who had suffered by the Malfoys. But the Malfoy children had understood, it wasn't his fault that a madman had forced a child to do his biddings, they were in fact thankful that their past was left behind and had given them their parents. They were somewhat thankful to have them as their parents despite their past.

Lyra had remembered the stories her Grandma Cissa would tell. That she was thankful for her mother for giving Draco Malfoy back the happiness he deserved. She had seen how thankful her grandma was every time she saw her with her mother.

Lyra's heart ached painfully as she remembered the stories her Grandparents had told her about her father. It was heartbreaking to see Narcissa Malfoy break down as she recalled every memory she had with her son. And gut-wrenching to watch when Lucius Malfoy had choked up, trying to remain as calm as possible while he told stories about their father and his struggles. It tore Lyra's heart to watch them breakdown, knowing that they wont see their son anymore.

A hand resting on her shoulder made the young Malfoy look up. Only to see her mother smiling sadly at her, eyes red and cheeks puffy from tears. She thrusted herself in her mothers arms and cried, letting out all the pain she had felt for the past 2 years. Burying her face on her mothers neck as she sobbed.

Hermione's heart broke seeing her daughter like this. Letting her daughter cry, knowing that she had kept this pain to herself for so long. Lyra was the spitting image of her mother. Except for the distinct silver hair and grey eyes that she had inherited from her father. Hermione stroke her blonde locks, her erratic breaths starts to even out as her sobs turned to hiccups and tears were shed no more. Gripping tightly on her mother as Hermione rocked them slowly, calming her daughter.

"Mum." Hermione looked down and was met by her grey orbs, tears glistening. "I miss dad."

She smiles sadly, tucking a loose curl behind her ear. "I miss him too sweetheart."

"Mind if we join?" A voice interrupted.  They turned to see Scorpius and Alex by the door, sad smiles etched on their faces.

Hermione nodded, patting the space beside her as her sons joined them. Silence filled the room as the children started to talk quietly. Lyra, still in her mothers arms as she talked to her brothers.

Scorpius Malfoy was the spitting image of his father. It was remarkable to see him look so much like his father and yet act so differently. Her eyes turned to her daughters' twin brother. Alex had inherited their mothers chocolate eyes but silver hair like his siblings.

"I miss his horrible jokes." Alex says suddenly. His face flushes as they all look at him.

"I miss his smile." Lyra added, shifting slightly in her mothers arms.

"I miss his laugh." Scorpius smiled. Looking out the window as he said so.

"I miss everything about him." Hermione mumbled, tightening her hold on her daughter.

Scorpius looked at his mother, her brown curls were sporting grey hairs. Her once bright chocolate eyes were sad and empty. The telltale signs of tears brimming her eyes as she tried to hold them back.
