Hey guys! Here with another One-Shot. I've always thought of Nico as someone who would give good advise on death and stuff like that and so I decided to write a mortal meets Nico where he basically just gives advice. If you have any ideas for one-shots please tell me! I need more Ideas. ~Lucky
~Lila's P.O.V.~
I stood alone. The others were all long gone. Leaving me alone in my thoughts. My parents sat in the car waiting. They would be waiting for awhile. I wouldn't be coming anytime soon. I felt a hand lightly rest upon my shoulder. Looking behind me, I saw my older brother Ein. He looked at me, pity written all over his face. My gaze hardened. It was his fault. All his fault. "Lily we need to go home, it's getting late and you need to eat something"
"Why would you care? You never cared for Hunter." I sneered, "You let him run right into that fire. And look where it got him" Ein looked at me defiantly. "You know there was nothing I could do to stop him. He saved lives anyways! He died a HERO." I knew I had struck a nerve but I kept going.
"You could have pinned him down, knocked him out, anything! But you stood and watched as he ran straight to his death and you. did. nothing." Ein looked at me, pain stretched across his round face. Turning around I went back to staring at the grave that laid at my feet. My brother's foot steps getting quieter as he walked away.
Two weeks ago I had lost my better half. My best friend. My twin brother. There was a fire at the reck center and Hunter had run inside trying to save some of the people trapped. The fire department hadn't arrived yet and nobody, not even Ein had tried to stop him. Maybe it was because there was no use, or maybe it was because he was too fast, but Hunter had gone in and managed to get maybe 4 people out before the entire building collapsed. 3 people died. One being my twin brother.
Falling to my knees, I stared at the stone. After a few seconds I let out a pained wail. "Why?" I whispered, "Why did it have to be you who died? Why did you have to be so stupid? Why didn't you allow Ein to stop you?" I paused, and finally let go. I didn't cry when I was told what happened. I didn't scream. I felt nothing. My brain had shut down, not letting me comprehend what was going on. Now it was as though my hold world came crashing down. It had sunk in, the death, and now it had reached my heart. Causing me unforgettable pain. "It's your fault i'm feeling this way," I growled, venom lacing my words. "Your's and Ein's. You ran into the fire and Ein didn't stop you and now look what you've done." letting out a strangled sob, I whispered "You ruined my life."
"That's not true"
I whipped around thinking it was Ein, but was surprised when I saw a boy around my age standing behind me. He had black hair so long it almost reached his shoulders. His skin was pale from not being in the sun, and his eyes were a dark brown almost black. Looking closer at the area around him, it seemed that he was a shadow, and the ones around me seemed to turn towards him. He walked forward sitting next to me. It was silent for a few moments until he spoke again.
"It wasn't his fault."
"Oh sure it wasn't." I laughed dryly, "He had no control wether or not he ran into that fire."
"But imagine all of the lives he saved. Those people would be going through the same pain as you if they had died. Would you wish that upon them?" I thought about that. He was right. I would never wish the pain I'm feeling upon another. That would be terrible. The boy continued speaking. "He saved them from that pain" I was already feeling better. "I guess you're right" I mumbled. "Imagine how your brother is feeling. Being blamed for something he had no control over" The boy's voice was cold, very different from the sad, reassuring voice he had earlier. My eyes widened as I tried to envision how Ein was feeling. It left me filled with dread, it wasn't his fault, and this made me feel terrible. The boy stood up to leave, but not before leaving her with one last piece of advice. "He's most likely living it up in Elysium anyways. Waiting for your life to finally come to an end to that you can tell him all of the amazing things you did while he was down there."
As the boy was turning to leave, I asked him a final question. "Why are you helping me?"
Turning around, his eyes met mine, and all I could see was pain and regret. "Because I don't want you to make the same mistake as me." And then he was gone. Seeming as though he had disappeared into the shadows.
~Nico's P.O.V.~
I watched from the shadows as she turned around, fixing up the grave and then running to where her family was waiting. The girl jumped into her brother's arms and Nico smiled. She would be okay. As would all of the others who came here to see their loved ones. All of them being helped by the mysterious boy who seemed to be the shadows himself
Okay so I know it's a little angsty and it may not be that good but thats what you guys are here for. You'll tell me my mistakes and then i'll fix them! Anyways I've always just felt that this was something Nico would do. Thank you for reading! ~Lucky
