The Screams

This is a simple Percico story. Just a bit of fluff. I don't know if any of you guys ship it, but I am a multi shipper and like most ships. Except for Pertemis, Perstia, PercyxAthena, and have any of you seen PercyxSally? I really don't like that one. Basically I don't ship Percy with gods. Or anyone with gods really. Anyways in a week I will be gone camping so I will have no time to write. Sorry!

Disclaimer: I do not own PJO/HoO Rick Riordan does!

The screams rang out for a second time that night. There was nobody on the ship except for the screamer who wasn't awake.

Everyone on the Argo II was standing outside of his door, contemplating on what they could do. One suggested they make the walls sound proof, but that would take too long. Another suggested that they just tape his mouth shut. That was put down almost instantly. Nobody knew what to do. In the two days since Annabeth had been killed at the Doors of Death, nobody had gotten enough sleep. Everyone had been grieving, quietly staying up all night thinking of what they could have done instead. But nobody had grieved as much as Percy. He could never sleep, his dreams full of pain and torture. Not only from Tartarus, but also from seeing her lifeless body as she fell from the doors. His nights were spent crying, or screaming. In the mornings he wouldn't talk. Just sit there a quietly poke at his food, dark bags evident underneath his eyes. Other than that he would spend the day training. Hacking away at dummies. Percy knew this was not what Annabeth would have wanted, but he couldn't help it. He could do what Annabeth would have wanted later.

At the moment, he was in the middle of a dream. His screaming filling the entire ship.

After about 10 minutes, the sobbing and screaming still hadn't stopped. Not knowing what to do, the other members on board went back to their beds, awaiting a night of no sleep. Well all but one wen't back to their beds.

Nico quietly shadow travelled into the room with the distraught boy. Percy was thrashing, tears staining is face and sheets. His mouth was clearly bleeding. Most likely from biting his tongue. It was sad watching the boy he loved in so much pain.

Sitting down next to the boy on the bed, Nico pulled him up so his head was on his lap. Playing with his hair and whispering soothing words, the Ghost King began to sing.

"Fa la ninna, fa la nanna" As Nico sang the boy on his lap's cries began to slow, his breathing becoming steadier, and he was slowly lulled back to a peaceful sleep.
"Nella braccia della mamma
Fa la ninna bel bambin,
Fa la nanna bambin bel,
Fa la ninna, fa la nanna
Nella braccia della mamma
."

Eventually Nico began to fall asleep himself, his arms wrapped securely around the son of Poseidon, as if he was warding off the bad dreams and monsters.

*Time skip to morning*

When Percy awoke, he had felt more refreshed than ever. Looking up however, he realized the cause to his amazing sleep was a certain child of the underworld holding onto him as if he could never let go. Percy stared for a moment, admiring the boy next to him. Moving his arms so that they were also wrapped around the other boy, he slowly fell back asleep, hoping that he would never have to move again.

Nobody but Nico and Percy knew why, but the screams stopped from that night forward.

I think that was sweet! Im really proud of it and remember if you have anything that you would like to request, I am all ears! Thank you for reading! ~Lucky
