The leaves on the flowers were wilted. The petals crinkled and slowly losing color. The once bright blue roses were now an almost white color. Their original color. They had been placed in a vase, on a simple wooden side table. On the bed next to the side table was a boy. No older than 18. His breathing was ragged and a breathing tube had to be used to make sure he wouldn't stop. There were wires connected to him, making sure that he was still alive and his heart still beating. At the moment his heart rate was slow, but steady.

The boy's hand was being clutched tightly by another. The girl was sitting in a chair, her golden hair a mess. It was greasy and wild, as if she had been here for days. Which she had been. Weeks actually. The doctor would send her to go shower and sleep in a real bed every now and then, but she would always be back maybe an hour or two later.

Opening her eyes, she stared at the boy. Hoping, praying, that he would wake up soon. It pained her, not being able to see his smile, his beautiful eyes sparkling with life. Her mind traveled back to the day it happened.

*Flashback :)*

The war had ended. Leo was gone, already on his way to find Calypso, and Annabeth just wanted to see Percy. To make sure he was okay. Scanning the battle field, she saw the grim faces of her friends. They were surrounding something. No someone. Annabeth ran as quickly as she could and came face to face with what she was dreading most. There was Percy, a spear shooting out of his stomach, numerous other wound littered his body. She was at a loss for words, not being able to comprehend what was happening until Will came to take him to the infirmary. Annabeth sat there, staring at him as he was taken away. Tears started rolling down her face as she ran after them screaming his name, begging for him to stay with her. He had promised that they wouldn't be apart again, and here we were.

Annabeth had stayed in her cabin, not wanting to be there for the funeral. People had tried to talk to her, but she shut them out. Eventually after a few days Nico shadow travelled inside with Piper at his side. "Annabeth." Piper's voice was barely above a whisper. "Go away. I'm not going to eat if that's what you're here for. There's no point in staying alive if I can't be with him." Her voice was hoarse, from days of no use and lack of water.

"Annabeth." It was Nico this time.

"WHAT!? I DON'T NEED TO HEAR YOUR 'IM SORRYS' OR YOUR 'IT'S ALL GOING TO BE OKAYS' BECAUSE IT'S NOT OKAY!?" I was screaming.

"Annabeth," His voice was soothing "He's not dead, he's in a coma"

And so for the next month she sat waiting for him to open his eyes and beg for forgiveness for being so stupid.

"Annabeth" Will's voice threw her out of her though. Snapping her head up she stared at the boy. His eyes were glinted with worry as he stood there, eyeing the her. "It's time for you to go and eat, shower, and sleep. You've been here for too long and I need to check up on Percy." Annabeth hated Wednesdays. It was the day she would spend out of the infirmary so that Will could do a more thorough check up on Percy. She would come back at night to stay there for another week.

Silently, Annabeth stood up and walked out the door and into the camp. She headed over to the Athena cabin. Slipping inside she headed over to the shower and got undressed. The water poured down on her, making her tense shoulders relax. Percy would be okay. She had left before, and nothing happened then. He would be fine.

Annabeth slipped out drying herself off and putting on a simple tank top and shorts, she headed over to where he bed was. Laying down, she allowed herself to drift off into a luckily dreamless sleep.

**Time Skip :D**

When Annabeth awoke it was about maybe 5 in the afternoon. Stumbling down to the pavilion, she sat at the Athena table. Tuning out the conversations around her, she ate her mashed potatoes and beef in peace. Around 6:30ish she got up and started wandering towards the Demeter cabin. Katie was already there holding up a beautiful bouquet of blue roses. Taking them gratefully, Annabeth wandered back to the infirmary, the roses in hand.

As she slipped into the room where Percy lay, she stopped, startled at what she saw.

"P-Percy...?" Her voice was barely a whisper.

"Hey Wise Girl." He smiled, "Those are some pretty flowers."
