Allright, here it is. It's rather filler-ish, but I wanted to establish that yes, she does work as a waitress three times a week as well as being a teacher. Because I said that in the first chapter, but then kinda forgot to bring it up again till now, so... :3

The next chapter will me much more interesting. ;D

For the next couple weeks, Lizzie worked out the perfect way to tell Madi about her and Connor. She had a speech of sorts planned out in her head, and she kept adding and editing parts of it every time her brain veered toward the subject, perfecting it. She wanted to make it as easy on the woman as possible, but she had to be firm and make her believe that she was telling the truth.

She'd asked Nathan and her friends about a million times for their advice on the topic, and she'd set a date for next Friday to confront and break the news to Madi.

Kaylie, the hostess that she usually worked the evening restaurant shift with and one of her closest friends, suggested she get drunk to relieve some of the obvious stress she was feeling.

It was a very Kaylie-like thing to advise, and at first Lizzie disagreed, saying that her stress would just return in the morning. But Kaylie turned it into a request rather than a suggestion.

"C'mon, Lizzie. Live a little. You haven't gone out with the group in too long. We miss you," Kaylie crooned, pouting her full lips at Lizzie before the dinner rush. Kaylie had long blonde hair, big chocolate-brown eyes and the straightest, whitest teeth Lizzie had ever seen - the final result of years of orthodontist appointments. She was a major party girl, and was always trying to get Lizzie to go with her.

Kaylie planned a group gathering with all their mutual friends at least once a month at her favourite bar, O'Malley's. The last time Lizzie had gone with them, she'd gotten very drunk and hit on nearly every attractive man in the bar. Chris - her bear of a gay male friend - had ended up carrying her home before some horny college guy had the chance to.

She was a happy and flirtatious drunk, and sometimes it got her into awkward situations, so she preferred not to indulge with alcohol.

Lizzie leaned against the counter and crossed her arms under her breasts, grimacing, and Kaylie rolled her eyes. "Everyone's coming tonight. I even got Anna out of her crazy doctor schedule. Pleease? My lovely lady friend Lizzie? I will love you forever!"

"You know what I'm like when I'm drunk." She glanced at the clock and signed herself in for the night. "I may go if you guys promise to prevent me from throwing myself at every male in the room," she said to Kaylie. She held up one finger to get her friend to wait, before walking into the kitchen to check in with the chef.

She came back around and Kaylie assigned her a single table for the night. Lizzie was surprised - the restaurant was really busy all the time, and having only one table to serve all night was a blessing.

"We're over-staffed tonight, so the only table you have to run is eleven." Lizzie nodded and tied on a black waist-apron. "So you won't be working overtime. And you have time to do something fun after work," Kaylie hinted. Lizzie rolled her eyes at her friend's attempt at subtlety. Kaylie had never been good with the small nuances of polite conversation, and she often blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

Lizzie told Kaylie she'd think about it and made her way over to her table.

Three hours later, with her pen and notebook at the ready, she addressed the elderly couple sitting in front of her with the normal greeting: "Hello, I'm Lizzie, and I'll be your server for this evening." They nodded, smiled and murmured hello. "Would you two like to start with something to drink?"
