Grace's Pov (about 30 minutes after the end of last chapter)

I listen to the noise around me as everyone parties. We are all currently on the patio of a local bar called the "Extended Barrel Bistro" and everyone is having a blast. I, on the other hand, am keeping an eye on the parking lot for Dominic, hoping he didn't overthink things again and get cold feet. It's as I'm standing here watching that the sound of a motorcycle screaming down the street catches our attention. We all listen eagerly as it gets louder and louder before the bike comes into view down the road and watch with prying eyes as it turns into the parking lot without slowing down a bit and drifts perfectly into the center of a parking spot while the rider skids his boot along the ground, causing sparks to fly as he goes. The rider then takes his helmet off and looks at us, though he's too far away to see clearly. I already know that it's Dominic though, he's the only one who owns a red leather duster.

"You're a lucky woman, I would love an alpha male like that", I hear from my left in a distinctive South American accent.

"Well Taina, I'm not going to lie. After what I saw tonight, he's all yours", I say, knowing that for what I have to do to work, I'll need to make it believable.

"Why?", Taina asks in a surprised manner.

"I thought he was a sweet and shy, a gentle giant of sorts. Instead, he's a brutal, genetically modified, war machine", I say to her.

"Are you sure his wild and unpredictable ways won't compliment your calm demeanor" she says back.

"Taina, I'm pretty sure that he's just a monster and always has been. You've seen how he is on missions, he kills without a hint of remorse.", I say to her before walking over to Dominic next to his bike.

"Hey Grace, you okay? You look upset." he says softly.

"Because I am. We need to talk", I say back. He looks worried and we walk around the back of the building before I look at him. "Listen Dominic, I honestly don't want to hurt you, but I think we need to split", I say sternly to him, hoping to end this quickly.

"What, why?", he says back, surprise tinging his voice heavily.

"Dominic, I can't help but be honest: I started dating you because I thought you were a kind young man with a few bad habits. Instead, I learned that you were a brutal monster that only looks truly happy in a fight, and yeah, I've noticed the glee on your face that appears when you're bludgeoning people", I say, causing Dominic to look like he is about to cry.

"You can't be serious? I thought you were happy with me!", he says making my heart break a little, considering the real reason I have to do this.

"You know Dominic, you're right, I was. I hate to say this, but I really don't want to split, but we need to. My parents got wind that we are together and are outraged my it. He told me that I either leave you, or he'll have you killed. You already know that he has the power to do so, he's one of South Korea's top officials and has already arranged for me to marry another powerful man's son. I'm so sorry, but he told me the day before you opened up. I really don't want to hurt you", I tell him, not having the strength to lie anymore.

"You're kidding me right? You know I won't die. And you know what, you're already hurting me, you need to let this go. I'll deal with anything your father sends my way.", he tells me, pulling at my heart strings even more. And I know now that if I ever want Dominic to be happy again, I'll have to make him hate me. It's the final straw for the little bit of resolve I still had, but I scream at him to leave. He tries to stay and comfort me, but I start smacking him in the chest until he leaves. Once he does, I know what I have to do.
