We were currently in Evan's car with a stranger, called Jude, going to Walmart. I had decided to wear mom jeans and a black crop top. Nothing to dramatic for a house party. The music in the car was blasting and the windows were rolled down. So far I felt amazing.
Evan squeeze my hand causing me to look at him and smile. I'm happy with Evan right now. He makes me feel good and I like that.
Once we had arrived at our destination, Evan parked the car and had asked us if we wanted to go with him inside. The stranger in the back seat went with him and so did Leo, leaving me alone in the car. I smiled to myself as I just sat in silence. I probably look like a pervert or something but honestly I really haven't been this happy in so long so I could care less on how I look.
I grabbed my phone from my wallet, noticing I had a missed call from my sister. I called her back.
The phone ranged a couple of times before she answered.
"Hey." I said through the phone "You called?"
"Yeah. Nothing important though. I just wanted to see where you guys were?" She said making it sound more like a question than a statement.
"Oh. Okay. We just came to hang out with a couple of friends." I said not adding a lot of expression to my voice.
"Okay. Well be safe and bring Leo at a decent time, okay?" I nodded my head then realized she couldn't see me.
"Okay. We will. See you later." Then she hung up.
I scrolled through Instagram for a few minutes before all the doors were being open except mine. Evan sat in the driver seat and the other two in the back. I heard bags being shuffled around the back and a few glasses being clinked against each other.
"Hey." I mumbled at Evan and smiled. He turned the car on before returning the smile and pecking me on the lips.
"You guys want gum?" Leo reached his hand towards us. We both grabbed a piece. Evan backed the car back and drove out of the parking lot. I watched the store disappear into the night as we drove away. The ride was silent only for the music playing on the radio.
"Now playing She's American by the 1975." The lady on the radio station said.
"Holy fuck!" I shouted. Evan gave me a couple weird glances as I turned the volume up a little. I turned my head to face Leo and the other dude and just smiled.
"I actually like this song." The dude said from the backseat.
"You know this band?" Evan asked us.
"Um, yeah! Amazing band. Each and every one of them are beautiful and so fucking talented!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, man! Even I agree. They are fucking amazing! Turn it up!" The orang head said from the backseat. I turned it up, grooving to the song and singing.
"A big town. Synthetic apparitions of not being lonely. Look, he's having a breakdown." I sang pointing at the road still dancing. I grooved for a little while before singing again.
"She calls on the phone like the old days, expecting the world. Don't fall in love with the moment. And think you're in love with the girl." I sang again this time pointing at Evan.
"If she likes it 'cause we just don't eat. And we're so intelligent, she's American. If she says I've got to fix my teeth. Then she's so American..." The orange head boy and I kept singing until the song ended and Evan turned the volume down.
The car came a halt at a red light. "You are weird. Fuck, I love you." Evan said as he moved closer to me and placed his lips on mine. I felt weird making out with him at a red light, in front of a stranger and my brother. So I pulled away and just smile at him like I have been doing the whole night.
The light turned green and Evan drove off. It's surprisingly a long way to get to his house. I hadn't really realized. A couple of minutes pass before we arrived at his house which was already filled with people.
"What the hell." I mumbled under my breath.
"Yeah, I know. I got my friend to stay and watch the house while I was gone." Evan said. "Lets go!"
There wasn't any space for him to park in the garage so Evan parked his car on the curb. We all got off the car and started walking up the drive way. Evan held my hand in one of his hands and a box of beer in the other as we walked towards the house.
"Leo you can drink one beer if you want. No more than one and no drugs. Okay?" I told Leo. He was younger than me by one year but we have always been compared to twins because we have always been together. We're very protective of each other.
"Okay Luna. I will do whatever you say. I'll even call you if I need anything. I'll see you guys later." Leo said before walking away and into the house. I felt weird having my brother here. It didn't feel safe.
We all followed behind him. Once we had entered the house music was blasting through it. It wasn't as crowded as recent parties but it was also pretty early. Evan held my hand as he lead us towards the kitchen. Once he had place the box of beers on the counter, he turned around and placed his hands on my hips.
He leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear. "Guess what?" He whispered.
"What?" I asked with a smile plastered on my face. He pulled my body closer to his and kissed my cheek in one swift movement.
"I made us something." He said as he removed his hands from my body, sliding himself away from me and grabbing a red plastic container from the fridge. "There brownies."
"Oh man! I love brownies!" I exclaimed, taking a few steps towards him and grabbing the container from his hands, placing it on the counter. I opened it up and took one out, biting into to it.
"But guess what?" He asked next to me.
"What?" I smiled with a mouth full of bread. He reached into the container that was in front of us and took a bit off of a chunky fudge brownie.
"They have cannabis in them."
