"I...actually don't know," Earth answered. His eyes looking far away, then he looks back at Fluke, "I think it's not that, I believe he has his reasons," he added.

Fluke frowned at the answer, "Hasn't he ever asked you to accompany him to some elite parties before?"

This time, Earth was the one who's frowning, he shook his head, "I don't think Kao got an invitation to a party since we've bonded," he said.

"Bullshit. There'd be no way Dechaphatthanakun's heir didn't receive an invitation, Earth," Fluke said.

"Maybe," he started, "Maybe he's too busy since we've been bonded?"

Fluke chuckled, "Your statement seemed like a question instead, and I wonder why."

Earth just smiles softly in reply.

Earth is walking down the hall to the main wing, where the dining area is. He saw the shadow of the head butler and approached it.

"Head butler," he greets.

The head butler turns around and sees the young master with both hands on top of his pregnant belly, he smiles in greeting.

"Has Kao received a party invitation since we bonded?" he asked.

The head butler nodded his head, "Yes, there were many that addressed to the young master Kao. Is there anything wrong, young master?"

Earth was silent. He then nodded and stepped back into his room.

He sat on the edge of the bed with a raging mind. He didn't want his mind to be eaten by feelings of fear and anxiety gnawing at him from within like this.

Doesn't want the old events to repeat, he finally decided to better ask his alpha directly.

Earth tried to convince himself that all feelings of uncertainty from Fluke's mere questions were only due to his mood since he became pregnant.

He lowered his head and stroked his stomach slowly, "Let's trust your father more, baby!" he said to the fetus.

With that, he decided to get some rest. Since getting pregnant, he needs a lot of rest, both his body and mind.

Earth welcomed his alpha with a smile at the door. Kao, who was feeling exhausted, immediately had a happy face upon seeing his mate waiting for him. After handing over his suitcases to the butlers, he ran to embrace Earth in his arms. He breathed in the two scents he had missed ever since his departure a week ago.

"I...really...miss...you...both," he said in every whiff he took off his mate's crook of the neck.

Earth giggled, "We miss you too, daddy," he replied.

Kao kept his face away from between his mate's neck and shoulder to give a sharp look, "Not here, not now, baby," he said. Then he added, "Or you prefer to be taken right here, right now, in front of everyone?"

Earth's face turned red with embarrassment after imagining it. He even felt a little aroused at his alpha's suggestion. He burrowed his face in his alpha's chess to hide his arousal expression. He mumbled, "Do you have a daddy fetish or what, Kao?"

And Kao just laughed seeing his mate's cute act, he didn't refute Earth's question though.

Hours later, they both settled down in their room after having a welcome home dinner for the alpha, Earth started feeling nervous. At first, he was thinking about how to ask his alpha, the questions that he has.

"Emm, Kao, I want to ask something," he started.

Kao who was busy massaging Earth's achy feet turned his gaze to his omega, "You can ask me anything, baby," he replied.

With a nervous glance, Earth asked, "Do you feel embarrassed with me as your mate?"

Kao's hand stopped immediately. He looked sharply at his mate, "Where did that come from, baby?" he asked as if something of that line was atrocious. He added, "Of course no! I've introduced you as my mate in front of the guest on our engagement day, baby. There's no way I'd feel embarrassed with you," he answered.

Tears gathered in Earth's eyes, "I'm so relieved..." he said.

Kao chuckles at how silly his mate must have been thinking of him, he caresses Earth's head in a loving manner.

"Why haven't you gone to the elite's parties since we've been bonded then? I heard from the head butler that you received many of them though," Earth asked.

Kao frowned, "I never really enjoy participating in a party, baby, especially from the elites family."

Earth gaped at his alpha, who laughed at how silly his mate's look now.

"You should ask more specific questions at the head butler, baby," Kao said. He then added, "Whenever I was invited, I'd sent a flower arrangement as my replacement for not attending their parties."

"Why...why haven't you taken me to sightsee the town?"

Kao was taken aback, "Eh? I thought you're a home person, baby. You never ask me to take you out too."

Earth gave his alpha a sharp look. He felt deceived and annoyed at the same time. Hearing the reason coming out from his fiance's mouth really made his blood boil. He pouted and shoved his alpha away from him.

"You dummy alpha!" he shouted to the confused Kao.

The next day he consulted his mate's behavior with his parents when they were talking about the business that Kao settled in the last week abroad.

His mother who was just drinking tea beside his father immediately shook her head and told him, "You should be more initiative to take your mate out to dinner or just to shopping. Don't be a foolish alpha like this Kao, I taught you better than this."

He got his mother's disapproving gaze at his back all the way to his room.

He stopped in the hallway just to the center of the house when the head butler waiting for him there. He regarded the man with a curt nod.

The head butler then asked him, "Why didn't you just say the real reason, young master?"

a/n: Maybe I haven't really told you, but I wrote this story imagining the European old settings. Like, the way I describe Kao's family as 'elite' at first I want to write it as 'the dukedom' or something along the lines. But, I think it'd be a big setting for me to delve into, so instead, I make it sounds they're as important like that. If you also noticed, I made this story without really having any 'technologies'. Like when Kao was on his business trip, I didn't make Earth can 'call' or 'video call' his alpha, but I made it like he could send 'letters' instead (referring to when Fluke asked why Kao didn't reply to his letters in Book I). Enough babbling here, thank you for reading my side notes...I mean author notes :)
