Time went by quite quickly after that, Earth entered the fifth month of his pregnancy.

Earth blinked his eyes, looking around in his supine position. Half conscious, he realized that the sky outside was still dark from the sidelines of the exposed window curtain. He then looked to his side, where his alpha slept with a peaceful face, he chuckled. Kao wouldn't show this expression if he's awake, he told himself.

Actually, Earth doesn't want to disturb his alpha's deep sleep, but his stomach has been grumbled since he woke up. Then, he tried to wake Kao slowly. His hands shook his alpha's shoulders.

"Kao..." he said softly.

Kao just twitched and Earth kept on shaking his alpha's shoulder until those eyes flutter open slowly.

"Kao?" Earth said shyly, getting his alpha's full attention. Earth placed a hand on his bump and blushed as he looked at his alpha's confused look, "Your child and I have another food craving."

Kao sighed, he can't help but to smile at how cute his mate sounded just now. He's now fully alert, looking at the clock on the nightstand, and it was only 2 AM now.

"What does our munchkin want this time, baby? Cold strawberries again, perhaps?" Kao asked, his hand reaching out to caress his mate's bump, where said munchkin is still growing inside.

Earth beamed happily at his alpha, "I want those cold strawberries with mayonnaise and pickles!"

Kao groaned and did his best not to throw up at his mate's choice of cravings this time around. He heaved a sigh as Earth's craving seems easy to obtain because it's still too early for shops to be opened if, say, his cravings were to buy something from a certain store.

"Okay, baby. Just don't ask me to ever taste it, ever," Kao smiled weakly and he left his mate to go to the kitchen and obtain those disgusting-combinations of cravings.

Earth frowned while stroking his belly, he then asked his baby, "Doesn't it sound delish though, bubs?"

It was a sunny morning when Earth read a letter he just received yesterday evenings. He looked up at his alpha whose bringing him a glass of warm milk full of nutrients for the baby.

"Your mother said she'll send us a whole variety of cheese, Kao!" he beamed happily at his alpha.

Kao nodded and gave the glass of milk to his mate, who immediately drank it with enthusiasm. He smiled, he was grateful that Earth could enjoy the milk for pregnancy and their child didn't refuse it, or else the nutrition will have to be in another form.

"It seems like she is too fond of living in the rural part of New Zealand. Even my father often sent us various souvenirs while they were traveling around Europe," Kao said.

Earth nodded enthusiastically, "That's right! Your mother seems to want to stay in New Zealand longer than in other European countries. Does she discuss with you, plans after this?"

Kao who was sitting next to Earth flicked the tip of his mate's nose slowly, "How long are you going to call her as 'your mother'? You're already part of our family, you better start making it a habit to call her more familiarly, baby. I'm sure she will be happy even if she only read it from the letter you sent."

Earth was nursing his nose, but then he mulled things over, and he smiles brightly, "Can I really?" he ask enthusiastically.

His alpha just smiles and ruffles Earth's hair with love.

"Ah, about what you asked. My mother seems to plan on staying in New Zealand for a few months, but they'll be here when our munchkins' born, baby," Kao replied.

Earth pouted, "They seem to really enjoy their second 'honeymoon'. This house has gotten so quiet," he said. 

Then he realized that there was a part of the letter that he hadn't read yet.

"It's addressed to you, Kao," Earth said, then he read it aloud for his alpha to hear, "I forgot to tell you, Kao, that your father's relative's daughter, Selena, will be staying at our home because she is in Bangkok!"

Kao was stunned, "Selena?"

Earth seemed confused by his alpha's reaction when he heard the name 'Selena', who was that woman?

"Who is Selena, Kao?" asked Earth curiously.

"Err...Selena is-"

Just as Kao was about to answer his omega's question, a hand wrapped around his neck from behind.

"Do you miss me, Kao?"

"-my ex."

Earth was too shocked to make a sound, so he just silently watched Kao released the back hug slowly. After finding his voice again, Earth asked, "Sorry, but who are you?"

The woman is now sitting in a chair right in front of Kao and Earth. She wore a pastel yellow flowering dress and her curly blond wavy hair made her look beautiful and elegant at the same time.

"I'm Selena, and...you are?" the woman asked back.

Earth is stunned. So this beautiful woman in front of him is Kao's ex-lover? In his heart, he tried not to compare himself with this woman, but they looked like heaven and earth, too different from each other.

"What are you here for?" Kao, who had been silent, finally asked.

Selena smiled very sweetly as Kao asked her, "I have an event to attend nearby, so after telling mum, she told me to stay here and not at the hotel. Didn't she inform you?"

'Mum?' Earth muttered. Was Selena that close to Kao's family that she is allowed to call his alpha's parents so familiarly?

Kao just sighed, "You better just go to a hotel."

Selena pursed her lips, "Why are you so heartless to me? You used to be so considerate that you wouldn't even let me went shopping alone," she whined.

Kao was silent. He then turned to Earth who had chosen to remain silent, he even forgot to introduce his fiance to Selena.

"Right, Selena, this is Earth, my fiance and also my mate. Earth, this is Selena."

Selena was now speechless, while Earth offered the woman a faint smile as a courtesy. Then Selena gave the omega a half-hearted smile.

Selena's attention then turned back to Kao quickly, as if she ignored Earth's presence in front of her.

"Anyway! I brought souvenirs from France for you, Kao!"

And Selena began to monopolize Kao's attention who only politely served her, without noticing Earth returning to their room silently.

a/n: At first I want to leave a cliffhanger when Kao said "-my ex.", but I'm not that cruel....uhm? maybe? HAHAHAHAHA well, so I made it more than 1k words because-
