Kao was still standing, his face lost all color, and he finally fell back on the couch when his knees gave out. He looked on the floor, he flinched when he saw all the photos he had thrown at his pregnant mate's face and now it's all scattered below him. 

He heard some shuffled sound coming from his left and just remembered that Selena was still beside him. A hand was clutching his shirt.

"Kao, I didn't leave you for another man, and I wasn't here to ruin your life," Selena whispered beside him, she also didn't give another excuse on the cheating part.

"Are you happy that you made me say all that? Made me call him the word he often heard from his own mother. I wish I didn't believe your words," Kao said dejectedly.

Selena glared at Kao, "You think..." she said, raising her voice, "You're not the one at fault? I mean, you can't even treat your mate's right, you just believed my words and not ask him yourself! You think you're so innocent and are playing victim now?" she snapped.

Kao flinched.

Prem shuffles his feet looking at the young master's expression, he whispers loud enough to be heard by Kao, "You take your mate for granted, young master."

Kao keeps being silent.

"Your bond isn't just some mate bond like me and Prem, young master," Boun started, "You and young master Earth are a fated pair, that should give you more reason to trust him more."

The head butler then added, "A fated bond should also tell you how your mate's feelings if you just open up the bond," he then explained, "Different from telepathy, opening up the bond gives you access to be an empath for your mate, wherever they are. Only if you initiate the link and your omega accept it."

Kao was stunned.

"I...I didn't know," he said with a forlorn expression.

The head butler's disappointed expression showed on his face, "It's not really an open knowledge, but I thought you have learnt all about fated bond when you asked me to bring you any book mentioning it."

Feeling like lightning has struck him, Kao just then remembered a passage in a particular book that said the exact same information the head butler gave him.

With a smug face, Selena crossed her arms and looked at Kao, "Ha, and you blamed me for all you've done to your own mate?" Selena said.

Kao just glanced at the woman, not really having the energy to give another outburst to her. She was partly right, he was blaming her because he feels like he wants to run out from this all. 

He wants this to only be a bad dream and wants to wake up seeing that he wasn't such a douchebag towards Earth. He wants to take back all the accusations he gave his mate, he wants to take back the insult he uttered to Earth, and more importantly, he wants to forget that he ever lay a hand on his pregnant omega.

He now accepts that all of this isn't just Selena's fault. He was the one who chose not to put more trust in his mate, he was the one who accused his omega with only those photos Selena gave him, he was also the one who had slapped and called Earth a slut.

He was a terrible man, he acknowledged that fact after his eyes were being opened by his three employees who came in to give him the details on what had happened. It felt like a slap being given to him repeatedly and a bucket of ice cold water being thrown at him from on top of his head.

Kao glanced at the three men who stood far from him, he looked at them with both shame and regret.

"I'm a terrible man. I felt so awful after doing those inexcusable behaviors to my bond mate," he chuckled ironically, "After all I've done, I do wonder, if I was actually a demon in a human skin," he said, face looking so remorseful.
