⚠️SPOLIERS AHEAD FOR THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES READ WITH CAUTION⚠️
So if you've read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes you know about the covey the group of people who traveled panel until they were forced to settle down in twelve. Well the covey all have some sort of musical talent especially Lucy Gray and Maude Ivory who are the groups singers. Well it's very possible Katniss is descended from Maude Ivory because first off Lucy Gray composes The Hanging Tree and sings that and also sings The Meadow Song.
Maude Ivory is know for remember a song after hearing it once and The Hanging tree was only sung once. You may be wondering why not Lucy gray because she was the main character along with snow well we don't know what happened to her so we can't prove it is her or isn't her. Now in reality it could be any of the covey since they all have musical talent but Maude ivory is our best guess. Also the covey know about the lake house and the lake plus look at wear they live they are located close to the fence at the edge of the seam like Katniss.
Now you could argue well katniss doesn't identify as covey so she couldn't be described as being covey well after a generation or two they wouldn't identify as covey anymore plus not identifying as covey is a small compared to how much evidence there is to support this theory.
