long ass chapter, sorry-

san. | rup.

"oh dang! tell me how it goes then. what's her name by the way, i never caught that," yeosang spoke with a little amusement, seeing how his friend previously seemed to have been in daze thinking about the so-called crush.

"rup. her name is rup," san replied softly, liking the way the name rolled out his tongue. he looked up at yeosang with a bright smile. "party in my house today, i'll let you know then. now let's go, we're gonna be late for class."

rup fiddled with her eraser, as she watched how the clock's fingers passed slowly. her focus seemed to have only been on that one device on the wall, but her mind was perhaps somewhere else. the whole day, she's been thinking of san, and the letter which was gonna be her last. her proper confession.

her feeling nervous would just be an understatement. he'd finally know who she was exactly, and it was causing her insides to churn. it wasn't that she didn't want him to know, but she feared of falling in love again after her recent relationship, which lasted for couple of months. but feelings are inevitable.

a ring on the bell, and school was finally over. she nervously looked around the classroom, trying to spot the boy in her mind. however, she didn't seem to find him and she was more than confused. san never left the classroom earlier than everyone else.

shrugging slightly, rup stood up to clear her desk, as she put her books and stationery deep in her bag and hung it over her shoulders. she calmly walked out of the classroom with no rush, and headed off the main hallways on the way to the school gates. what she didn't know was what was coming for her there.

san. | rup.

san stood right in front of the gates of the building, so it was sure of him to bump into rup once she's out. as soon as he spotted her figure coming out of the doors, he felt his heart skip a beat. his crush was making her way towards him obliviously.

san had read the letter rup wrote for her earlier the day, during lunch. he had a bright smile once he was done, and he felt like screaming out of delight. his mind went in ecstasy once he saw the magical 3 words that were written smoothly on the thin sheet, and he couldn't wait for confronting her too.

he watched as rup slightly bumped her shoulder with his, earning a soft sweet apology. she looked up to him with pure shock, and with that reaction, san let out a genuine giggle. the male didn't notice it, but rup almost immediately blushed when those pleasing sounds of laughter rang through her ears.

"you're really cute, you know?" with that, the shorter covered her face, fully aware that her face looked like a bright tomato at this point. san gave out another squeaky giggle at the sight of the shy girl, before gently holding the hands on her face. "hey, there's no need to hide from me, my secret admirer."

rup closed her eyes in excitement and slowly looked up at the boy again. a warm, but shy, smile spreading across her face when she whispered, "h-happy birthday san.."

san smiled brightly at those words, rubbing a thumb over her hands. "thank you sweetheart. it's nice finally getting to talk to you after all those cute letters," the taller said while gazing at the latter's eyes. rup widened her eyes, now knowing that her crush has definitely been reading her silly love letters.

"y-you really read my letters? w-what about the one i gave today..? that too?" by now, the school had a few students still walking around the campus. it was almost practically empty, and rup didn't have to feel too shy to talk to her boy crush in public.

"of course i read them! i've never gotten one before, so i was really interested when you first started sending them in," san continued, slightly moving closer in comfort, "and yes. i've read today's letter. i was surprised to say the least."

rup's cheeks flushed once more, and she immediately looked down, as if embarrassed by her glowing face. but instead, she was more embarrassed knowing that her crush is confronting her after reading her confession.

"u-uhm..i-i'm sorry if that made you u-uncomfortable, i-i know you have a crush a-and–"

"hey hey, slow down. it didn't make me uncomfortable at all, and as for my crush," san smiled from ear to ear as he leaned a little closer to whisper, "you were my crush, silly."

that's when rup's eyes reached the size of tennis balls. a crush was crushing on a crush, what a drama! rup chuckled silently at the thought and felt herself smile as bright as her lover was in front of her.

"r-really? woah- wait...were?"

"yes, you were my crush," san stretched out the word, grinning at his next words, "since our feelings are mutual, i wouldn't think you'd want us to just stay as a crush relationship."

rup gasped in shock, tightening the grasp of the other's hand unknowingly. "w-wait a-are you sure–"

"yes i'm sure, silly. but of course, i will give you time, i'd understand since you had a bad experience with your last relationship that you wouldn't be ready for this one," san cut off rup once again, looking deep in her eyes with pure sincerity. it was like he'd wait years for the girl to feel ready, and the thought of that made rup feel warm.

"if you want," san continued, noticing the shorter taking time to reply, "would you like to go on a date? i want you to get to know me better, and i wanna know more about you too."

rup's lips curved upwards in delight as she tilted her head slightly, already liking the idea. "i'd love to, i'm always free if you're wondering."

"great! today, 10pm, at star café, i wanna spend my birthday night with you!" san exclaimed in pure bliss as he slowly untangled their fingers off, walking backwards as if ready to go home.

"sure, i'll be there," was the last thing the long haired said, before turning around and making her way back to her place. she had the brightest smile put up on her face, thoughts of how the date would go racing in her mind.

'and it all started with a letter' rup giggles quietly at her thought, shaking her head and slightly fastening her pace.

happiness found her, and she was ready to embrace it all.

.

that's it. i hope you liked this! happy birthday my love :))
