~ Cassie's POV ~

She drives all the way to Henry's house. His father is no doubt inside the house, and Cassie slips out of the car without a word, and Priscilla follows her. They walk over and find the door is unlocked, and they slip into the den of the house.

The air smells of body odor and alcohol. The floor is a gross shade of brown carpet, and Cassie hates getting her good Sketchers dirty. But she knows she must do this. So she steps around the beer bottles and cans laying haphazardly about.

She looks at the living room, filled with trash and bottles and cans. The fat and disgusting looking man laying on the couch throws a not-quite-empty bottle of beer at the wall. He snarls.

"I thought I told you to be back an hour ago!" he roars, too drunk to notice that he's yelling at Cassie and Priscilla, not his son.

"Please," says Priscilla under her breath.

The man turns and swings at Cassie, and she deftly moves out of his grasp. He screams in rage, but Priscilla stabs him in the stomach with a poisoned, and paralytic blade. He screams again and collapses.

Priscilla chuckles. "Don't die too quickly, we will need you alive for the next part."

He looks up as his body is wracked with the pain of his stab wound. He whimpers and does not say anything as they pick up his arms and legs and carry him from the house.

They walk to the truck they came in, and then drive off.

They drive to Cassie's home, and dump the man who is now unconscious on the floor. Then, Cassie gets the items ready for the ritual. She walks over to where the altar stands and plucks a dagger from it, and then walks over and removes the knife from the man's stomach.

"Now, are you ready to be our sacrifice?"

The man groans as he wakes up and looks at them.

"Please, no," he pleads.

"I know that this is not what you want, but ... well, that doesn't matter anymore, now does it?" asks Cassie. She caresses her dagger gently. "I'm sorry, what was your name again?"

"Malkus," he says.

"Okay, Malkus," Cassie says casually. "This is it."

Priscilla ties him down to the floor, and then walks over and places a blindfold on his eyes. He squirms as she draws her knife, and they begin their ancient and arcane ritual to call upon the spirits above to help them, asking for the one thing they need  -  Elara and Regina Peshlakai.

Cassie and Priscilla were never helping the kids. No, they were betraying them this whole time. And now, their work will finally bear its first truth.
