Chapter 9

I woke up and looked at the clock and it was pass 12. I went to the living room and saw Justin who was on the phone. He noticed me and said something to someone on his phone then hanged up.

“How are you? Do you want to tell me what happened?” He pulled me to the living room and we sat down on the couch. I told him everything what I saw and saw his fist turning white. I held his hand and he lets go. He saw that the necklace is gone and I told him that I threw it at Oliver last night.

“I'm going to class. Today is quiz day and I don't want to miss it.”

“Okay, I'll drop you off and wait for you at the parking lot.” He told me and I went to my room to change my clothes and took my bag. I walked to his car where he was waiting for me and he drove me there. I rush to the classroom and answered everything then passed it to the professor then went straight to the parking lot.

When I arrived at the parking lot I saw Oliver who was talking to Justin, I saw Justin's fist and run towards him. I hold his hand and shook my head. I went inside the car ignoring Oliver's plead and locked the car. I waited for Justin to get inside. When he got inside he drove away and we arrived at the hotel. We went to Jackson's office and saw Jackson doing some paper work.

“Hi Leo, do you want something to eat?” I shook my head. “Justin, I can handle myself today, take a day off and go home with your brother. He needs you right now.” I walked towards Jackson and hugged him and he hugs me back.

“Thank you for last night.”

“Don’t worry about it. I'm always here to help.” Jackson replied then we both let go. Justin walked to Jackson as I went to the door. A few seconds passed by and we both started walking back to Justin's car.

“Wanna watch a movie or just go home?”

“Let's just watch something. I don't want to be home right now.” I softly said and he just nodded. We arrived at the cinema and got two tickers of a horror movie that I don't know. I just zone out all through out the movie.

“The movie was amazing!” I heard Justin said with much excitement.

“Yeah it is.” I said with much enthusiasm that I could. He just looked at me knowing I didn't watched it. “Okay I zoned out all through out the movie. I'm going to the bathroom.” I went to the bathroom and saw Ethan in there. He saw me and he walked towards me. I panicked and turn around to get out but he said something that stopped my tracks.

“Everything is a huge misunderstanding." I turn around and looked at him. "I would never make a move to someone that has a partner. He said that something was in his eyes and I was blowing something from his eye.” He explained. “You really need to talk to him. Our thesis is going downhill because he can't focus. He blames me and he didn't attend today's defense.” Ethan pleaded. “I really need to pass this. Please talk to him." He insisted.

“Okay, breathe.” I told him. “I'll talk to him, okay?” He nodded.

“It’s nice meeting you but it's sad that we can't meet in good circumstances.” Ethan said then left. I did my thing, wash my hands then went to Justin's car.

“Justin.” I called him then he looked at me. “I kinda broke my phone.”

“Figured that out when I tried to call your phone last night. I bought you another phone. It's at the back.”

“This is why I love you.”

“Yeah, yeah. Do you remember our numbers?”

“I do.” I took the bag from the back and opened it. “Holy shit is this the latest iPhone? You don't have to buy something expensive.”

“Jackson said I should so you can't break it like your last phone.”

“That smart bitch.” I mumbled.

“Hey, that's my smart bitch.” He said proudly. “Wanna go home?”

“Yeah, gotta charge the phone.” I tried opening it and it's 30%. I added their numbers and I hesitated adding Oliver but I did. We arrived home and I immediately went to my room and charged it. I hesitated on texting Oliver.

Me: Let's talk, the window is open.

I waited for a reply but nothing came. I waited for 15 minutes and decided to change clothes  When I was in my underwear I heard the window being opened and Oliver fell in. I quickly put on some pants and put on a shirt. I looked at him and he was panting really hard.

“What happened to you? Did you run a fucking marathon? You're drenched in sweat.” I took a towel in my closet and throw it at him. He started wiping his sweat with the towel. I sat down and waited for a while. “Why the fuck did you skip class especially in a defense? Are you fucking stupid?” I scolded him. I heard knocking.

“Leo are you okay?” I heard Justin asked.

“Not now Justin.” I heard his footsteps fading as he walked away. “Are you trying to fail? Are you trying to ruin your future? Listen to me Oliver. Don't fucking fail your class or I swear to God I will fucking murder you.” I sighed trying to compose myself. “Explain from the beginning, no apologies, just explain.”

“I did forgot to tell you that I'm going to eat with Ethan and I would never cheat on you. When you saw us on the park he was trying to remove something from my eye because it got irritated.”

“At the park, why are you with him and why didn't you replied with my text?”

“My phone died and I forgot to bring my power bank, I thought you were with Hannah and Blake.” He replied. “I went to the park with Ethan because I told him our stories from the moment we met until yesterday. I was going to take him home and go straight to your house and that happened. When I saw you, you were broken, I saw it in your eyes so when you started running I pushed Ethan away and started running and calling you. I would never cheat on you. For the past months that we were together you were my world, my life revolves around you and I would never want to change it.” I stood there trying to process everything he said.

We just looked at each other in silence until everything was processed in my mind. “Let’s take a break for now.” I told him and his eyes went dark. “We should just take care of ourselves for now, especially you since you have a thesis project that you need to pass.” I sighed. “After a few days, or weeks, or months, or a year or two, let's see what's going to happen with us.” He started tearing up and I walked towards him. “I’m sorry but we need this break.” I explained and I hugged him. He started sobbing and he hugs me back. I cried with him while hugging.

A few minutes came and we let go of each other. I walked him through the door. Justin, Hannah, and Blake saw us but they saw our eyes so they didn't questioned why he's here. I opened the door and he looked at me with loving eyes then he went through the door still looking at me. I closed the door then pressed my back against the door and slid down, crying.

Hannah was the first one to pull me up and hugged me. Justin joined in then Blake finally joined. I felt so weak because I was about to drop the love bomb earlier but I tried so hard not to say it. I stopped crying and they let go of me. Hannah pulled me to the living room and told them everything. They didn't say anything, the listened. I was grateful that they didn't add any comments.

A few moments passed and I stood up. “Just order for tonight, I'm going to bed.” I told them. Hannah stood up and kissed my cheek, Justin kissee my forehead, and Blake ruffled my hair. I left them, going straight to my room.

I sat on my bed and opened my laptop. I tried to look for a movie or series but I just end up scrolling and just stare at the screen. I just closed it and put it on the side. I laid down, closed my eyes and just try to sleep but I kept on turning left and right, can't sleep. I reached for the place where Oliver lays down and it was just empty. I pulled the pillow that he used and hugged it then cried. I cried until I fell asleep.
